For Dennis Quaid, his way of life in Nashville has more substance.
The âFar from Heavenâ actor, 72, shared the real reason why he and wife Laura Savoie, 33, ditched his longtime residence in Los Angeles in 2020 for Tennessee.
âIt used to be such a great town and the â90s was nice,â Quaid told Fox News Digital at CMA Fest over the weekend.
He added that LA has âbeen kind of going downhillâ lately and he âfeel[s] like people pay these taxes for no services.â
Quaid explained that the 2025 wildfires exposed âall those things that go on that should be taken care of.â
At the time, Quaid was forced to evacuate his Brentwood neighborhood home in LA.
More than 18,000 homes and structures were destroyed by the flames while 31 people died.
âSo people are â people are angry and half angry, and theyâre half kind of feel like giving up, to tell you the truth,â Quaid continued to the outlet.
Calling himself âone of thousandsâ who has fled the City of Angels, the âParent Trapâ star insisted he really âhope[s] the town comes back.â
âI really do. It used to be such a fantastic town. It was. It was a great community, too. And somethingâs happened. People need to be inspired there.â
Quaid also weighed in on the LA mayoral race, stating, âI hope Pratt wins.â
When previously asked by the same outlet why he was supporting the reality starâs campaign for mayor of the second largest city in the U.S. in May, Quaid retorted, âWhy? What are you talking about? Why? Just look around, man.â
However, as of Monday night, the top two candidates advancing to the November runoff are Karen Bass, the incumbent mayor, and Nithya Raman.
Pratt, 42, has yet to comment on his current standing in the race.
The âHillsâ alum and wife Heidi Montagâs Pacific Palisades home was one of many that burned down in the catastrophic fires.
