The world has been rocked by the death of singer Oliver Tree, who was killed in a helicopter crash in Brazil on Sunday, June 14, amongst five others. The 32-year-old’s girlfriend, Fiona Chernavskaya, broke her silence after his death with a touching tribute to the star on social media.

The fashion designer shared a series of photos of her and Oliver throughout their time together, alongside an emotional message of grief. “To my best friend: We traveled to 43 countries, and all 7 continents together. The magic, inspiration and joy you brought to my life and others will never be forgotten or replaced,” she began.

“You’d always tell me when we argued, if things don’t work out in this lifetime, you will find me in the next. I love you buggy.” In a separate post, she asked Oliver’s fans to allow her privacy to grieve and to stop perpetuating rumors about their relationship.

“Thank you for all the kind words. I appreciate every ounce of support at this time. There are so many who have been affected by his passing; please show them love too,” she wrote on her Instagram stories. “Please have respect for my privacy. We kept our relationship very intimate.”

“What I really don’t need is to see gossip about other women that Oliver may have been seeing, we were monogamous,” she continued. “Right now I’m mourning my partner and best friend, anything else is unimportant. Please have some respect.”

Oliver’s ex-girlfriend, “Dollhouse” singer Melanie Martinez, also shared a tribute to her former partner on social media, writing: “Been an absolute wreck today. It’s hard to understand how someone who you once shared such a specific and formative time of your life with can all of a sudden be gone.”

“I think everyone who knew him will look back at those moments of laughter and joy he so easily sparked,” she continued. “His laugh was so contagious and warm. His ability to lead creatively and take action while also maintaining a sense of childlike wonder and awe was so inspiring.”

She concluded: “Rest in peace, Oliver. I know you’re making the angels giggle. I’ll be here wondering what stunt and creative project you’re scheming up in heaven.”

The musician started as an internet personality before releasing his first single, “When I’m Down”, in 2017. The musician revealed that he had not left his fortune to his family

In an eerie premonitory moment, Oliver shared on The Zach Sang Show in April that upon his death, his fortune would go towards a foundation named Dr Oliver Tree’s Art Grants for Baby Geniuses, rather than to his family, who wouldn’t “get a penny”.

“When I die, my art will continue to have residuals and probably be worth more than it is now
that’s when people appreciate you, when you’re not there anymore,” he said. “I have basically a committee that I’ve set up when I pass – and I plan to do it while I’m alive – where basically everyone will vote on who the money goes to each year.”
