Actress and singer Hayden Panettiere tragically died on Sunday, Aug. 16, at the age of 36.
Her father, Skip Panettiere, announced her death in a statement late Sunday evening.
âIt is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden,â the statement read. âShe was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her â and to the millions who watched her on-screen. We ask for privacy as our family takes time to process this unimaginable loss.â
911 dispatch audio acquired by Page Six reports that paramedics responded to a call about an âunidentified femaleâ in âcardiac arrestâ on Sunday, and within minutes, âCPR [was] in progressâ for the âoverdose.â
Panettiereâs career began in 1994, and she appeared on several soap operas throughout the â90s. She remains best known for her roles in the long-running series âHeroesâ and âNashville,â and for her work in the films âBring It On: All or Nothingâ and âIce Princess.â
