Inside Clive Davis’ 3-day Memorial Day party at multimillion-dollar NY home with private theater

Music icon Clive Davis is showing no signs of slowing down at age 94 and hosted a lavish Memorial Day party spanning over three days, with a slew of celebrities in attendance. 

The record producer, who launched the careers of some of music’s biggest stars like Whitney Houston, Bruce Springsteen, Barry Manilow, Patti Smith and Kenny G, threw the big bash at his vacation home in Pound Ridge, New York, away from the hustle and bustle of Manhattan.

The stunning 17-acre property features two pools, a tennis court, and art from several major players like Andy Warhol, Damien Hirst, Alex Katz, Fernando Botero and Adolph Gottlieb. The abode is also home to eight guest bedrooms, a pool table, a guesthouse, and a state-of-the-art home theater. 

“I use it every weekend,” Clive previously shared of the theater. “The results are spectacular: high definition, clarity…On nights when I have a big party, people crowd in, and I’ve had as many as 80 people in the theater. I enjoy it thoroughly.”

The father of four told Billboard that the New York home was an escape from his busy life in the city, and “the best investment I ever made”. 

“The idea of coming up to this house every weekend is a tremendous respite. It gives me a chance to collect myself…it’s a direct contrast to the urban life, because I live smack in the middle of Manhattan,” he told the outlet.

The home, which has played host to everyone from Whitney Houston to Joan Rivers, welcomed a slew of famous faces over the Memorial Day weekend. Designer and curator Andy Yu shared a glimpse into the celebrations on Instagram, revealing that the group enjoyed a dinner to kickstart their weekend. 

“100 friends flew in from around the world to celebrate this music icon…a beautiful start,” he wrote.

The second night saw another star-studded dinner, with Andy writing: “The dinner was filled with some of the most creative minds – every person next to you was a singer, music producer, artist, and beyond. One of the most interesting guest lists imaginable, and the night still went until 2 a.m.-ish? All hosted by a 94-year-old American music legend. What a honor…”

The third day consisted of Clive’s Memorial Day party, where “the energy keeps building”, according to Andy.

“An elegant brunch gathering, an outfit change, another BBQ dinner, then into his private theater in Pound Ridge, where anyone can step up and perform a song,” he explained. “Mr Davis personally chooses a winner, and the night continues with music, storytelling, laughter, and more…”
