What happened inside Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding has largely remained a closely guarded secret – until now.
After months of meticulous planning and strict confidentiality agreements, guests at the couple’s spectacular Madison Square Garden celebration are finally beginning to reveal what really happened behind closed doors. And while around 1,000 family members, friends and celebrities gathered to celebrate the newlyweds, one word keeps emerging time and again: intimate.
From handwritten vows that left guests in tears to a dance floor that kept the celebrations going long into the night, those lucky enough to attend have painted a picture of a wedding that was every bit as emotional as it was glamorous.
Taylor’s aunt, Robin Gentry, summed up the atmosphere perfectly, telling Good Morning America: “They cried, and they laughed, and they danced, and they hugged, and they kissed.”
The show’s hosts, who were among the guests, echoed that sentiment as they reflected on the celebration. “It really was intimate,” Robin Roberts said.
Her co-anchor George Stephanopoulos agreed, adding: “It was as intimate as it could possibly be, given that it was Madison Square Garden. It’s hard to imagine that a place that big with such stars could feel so personal.”
Robin explained that despite the extraordinary guest list, the wedding felt remarkably grounded.
“They had their neighbors, their high school friends. It was like any wedding that you would go to,” she said.
Michael Strahan described it simply as “their dream wedding”, adding: “It really was amazing.”
Robin also revealed that Taylor and Travis had written their own vows, prompting George to enthusiastically add one detail that has delighted fans: “In little books!”
Country stars Kelsea Ballerini and Maren Morris also struggled to hide their emotions after witnessing the couple exchange vows.
Sharing a glimpse of the evening on Instagram, Kelsea wrote: “Watched my favorite singer fall in love and get married. (cries for several business days).”
She later added: “Congrats on the most beautiful wedding @taylorswift @killatrav. I’m still crying and dancing.”
Maren couldn’t resist joking about the celebrations, replying in the comments: “All this prom was missing was a corsage, a limousine and a dinner at Olive Garden. Best day with you.”
Actress Niecy Nash-Betts also shared her delight after attending alongside wife Jessica Betts.
“The Betts pulled up to the Travis Kelce & Taylor Swift wedding,” she wrote on Instagram. “A time was had! The love in the room was palpable. Wowwwwww is the best way to describe it. From beginning to end no detail was spared! Congrats! Welcome to the club!”
Film director Joseph Kahn, who has collaborated with Taylor on several music videos over the years, offered one of the most vivid descriptions of the evening.
“I had a wonderful time at Taylor Swift/Travis Kelce’s wedding last night,” he wrote on Instagram.
He revealed he had spent part of the evening talking filmmaking with Steven Spielberg, calling it a “lifelong dream achieved”, before turning his attention to the newlyweds’ celebration.
“What I will say about the wedding was it was so much funnier and emotional than expected, and as big as it was, it also felt very intimate. And yes, literally everyone was there.”
He added: “I told Lotte many times it was like living in the internet, and AI would crack if it tried to render it.”l
