It’s a “Love Story” and Taylor Swift said “I do” on Friday July 3, 2026, tying the knot with Travis Kelce after almost three years of romance.
Wedding details have slowly been emerging, and now Travis’ friend, and former NFL player, Ryan Fitzpatrick has offered more insight on the special day, including which song Taylor chose to walk down the aisle.
Ryan revealed that Taylor’s 2008 song “Love Story” played as she walked down the aisle, a moment that left many guests, including Ryan, in tears. Previous reports suggest it was an instrumental version of the song.
“Yes, and I may have cried,” Ryan shared on July 8, 2026 speaking during a break at the ACC Golf Championship. “It was very emotional, and also very fun and funny too, so it had all the feels.”
Ryan cleared up other rumors, dismissing claims that Taylor’s three cats were ringbearers, but said it was “true” that Travis was the more emotional one, between Travis and Taylor.
It was reported that over 1000 guests were in attendance at the wedding, which took place in Madison Square Garden in New York City, and details have slowly emerged in the following days.
Taylor and Travis both wore Christian Dior Haute Couture, with Taylor working alongside Jonathan Anderson, Creative Director of Dior Women’s, Men’s, and Haute Couture Collections, to design her gown.
Adam Sandler, who has been described as a “friend” of the couple, officiated the ceremony, and the pair chose not to have a wedding party, instead choosing Taylor’s brother Austin as Taylor’s Man of Honor, and Travis’ brother Jason as Travis’ Best Man.
In a sweet nod to the two families, Taylor and Travis also called the ceremony a moment that would join “both families together.”
“Somehow magically, someone created an outdoor garden at a lush countryside retreat. Everything draped off this time in green and white. Real flowers and I think artificial three [sic] welcomed fifteen rows of maybe 75 or so chairs. They say there were around one thousand attendees, but surprisingly, it all felt intimate and small. Everything was close,” shared AMC Theatres CEO Adam Aron, in a now-deleted tweet.
There were also “large blown up pictures of Taylor and Travis at each age, year by year, from one year-old to late teenager-hood” on display.
Broadcaster George Stephanopoulos, on Good Morning America, revealed that Adam Sandler was “funny and touching,” and shared that the vows were personal and handwritten and “everything you would hope for: real, vulnerable, serious, and silly.”
During the evening festivities, there were arcade games and raffles for guests to play, as well as live performances from Stevie Knicks and Sir Paul McCartney. One of the raffle prizes was a $7k Chanel bag, which was won by Jackie Tranquill, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Drue Tranquill.
Guests also received embroidered handkerchiefs as wedding keepsakes.
As guests began leaving the wedding, Taylor’s aunt was caught with her window down, and she told waiting reporters of the evening: “Oh, they cried… and they laughed, and they danced and they hugged and they kissed.”
BBC Radio 1 DJ Greg James also offered insight when he returned to the airwaves on July 8, revealing that there was no official sitdown dinner at the wedding. He also shared that there were multiple wedding cakes, and that the British guests “did sort of congregate for a bit, and then everyone went off and did their own thing”.
Greg also confirmed that the wedding guests used the same arena toilets that fans use at sporting events held at the venue.
“The venue looked beautiful, and it was all decked out as a wedding venue, but you know, arena toilets are arena toilets, so just toilets, you know,” he said.
