Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been spotted with what appeared to be a mysterious bruise on his face while driving near his home.
The former Prince, 66, was pictured driving his Land Rover near Marsh Farm on the Sandringham Estate on Thursday. Another man and a dog were present in the car.
Andrew appeared to have a large, red blemish on his cheek, covering the majority of his right cheek and surrounding the eye. It’s not known how he obtained the mark, however, The Times reported that it’s believed to be the result of a “non-serious medical condition”.
Andrew, who was wearing a pink shirt and blue jacket, has hardly been seen in public since a security scare while he was dog walking on the estate last month.
He has withdrawn from public life even more after being stripped of his remaining titles last October by his brother, King Charles. In January, he left Royal Lodge in Windsor and moved to Sandringham.
He was last seen in public two weeks ago when he did not have a blemish.
Security scare
Andrew relocated to Marsh Farm, his new permanent residence, in April after being exiled from 30-room Royal Lodge in Windsor over his links to Jeffrey Epstein.
Before moving in, he temporarily lived in Wood Farm Cottage as extra security measures were installed, such as an electric fence and a six-foot-tall wooden fence.
However, last month, a man was arrested for possession of an offensive weapon after ‘threatening’ and ‘chasing’ him while he was out walking his dogs, believed to be the late Queen’s corgis.
Andrew, accompanied by his private security, got in the car and drove away. The man was arrested and taken for questioning.
Afterwards, he was reportedly left “shaken” and wanted his taxpayer-funded security back, according to The Telegraph.
A spokesperson for Norfolk Police told HELLO! at the time: “Officers were called to Wolferton shortly after 7.30pm yesterday (Wednesday 6 May 2026) following a report a man was behaving in an intimidating manner in the village.
“Officers attended, and the man was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence and possession of an offensive weapon. He was taken to King’s Lynn Police Investigation Centre for questioning and remains in custody.”
Investigation
Andrew, who shares daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie with his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, was arrested back in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office during his time as special trade envoy for the UK. The investigation is still ongoing.
Last week, it was revealed that police were investigating claims centering around a waitress at Royal Ascot, from when Andrew attended in 2002.
He was said to have “behaved inappropriately” at the Berkshire racecourse, which was also attended by his mother, the late Queen.
Andrew has consistently denied any wrongdoing over the years.
