Nicole Richie and Benji Madden celebrate daughter Kate’s high school graduation with rarely seen son Sparrow

Nicole Richie and Benji Madden are some proud parents.

The celebrities were pictured on Wednesday night celebrating their daughter Kate’s high school graduation as a family with their rarely seen son, Sparrow, and Nicole’s mother, Brenda Richie.

Nicole, 44, and Benji, 47, were captured on camera beaming with pride as they posed for a selfie with their daughter.

Pictures showed Nicole wearing a rust-colored leopard print dress, which she paired with a black sweater and a hat. Benji went with a casual black t-shirt and baseball cap as he watched his daughter mark the major milestone.

At one point, even Sparrow, 16, joined in the family photo moment, standing between Benji and Nicole as Kate smiled on the other end.

On her Instagram Stories, Kate marked the occasion by sharing a black and white photo of herself with her friends as they dressed in their caps and gowns, each blowing a kiss to the camera.

She captioned the photo saying, “[peace] out.”

It was reported in January that Kate, born Harlow Winter Kate Richie Madden, had officially started going by her middle name.

“She goes by her middle name. She has her whole life,” Nicole explained to People when her recent birthday post in honor of her daughter sparked confusion.

“I didn’t look [at the comments], but it makes sense,” she acknowledged of the online reactions.

While she was rarely seen growing up, the newly 18-year-old nepo baby has been spotted more in recent months.

In April, she shared a collection of posts from her 2026 Coachella festival experience via Instagram.

She opened the carousel with a photo of herself looking all grown up as she posed in the crowd in a cropped white tank, a black headscarf and jeans.

Just last month, the teen joined her mom at the “Stop! That! Train!” red carpet premiere for some mother-daughter fun.

The reality TV personality looked charming in a navy blue polka dot dress with a matching head scarf, accessorizing with pendant earrings and what appeared to be a fur stole.

Kate, on the other hand, went with an edgy strapless black dress with matching knee-high boots.
