Taylor Swift and Travis Kelceâs lavish New York wedding was filled with unforgettable moments, but according to Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, one of the biggest laughs came courtesy of officiant Adam Sandler.
The Hollywood star surprised guests by leading the ceremony at Madison Square Garden on Friday, where Taylor and Travis exchanged vows in front of an estimated 1,000 family members, friends and celebrity guests.
Now, Reid has revealed the simple but heartfelt marriage advice Sandler shared with the newlyweds.
Adamâs heartfelt message
Speaking to reporters on Sunday, Reid said the comedian kept his advice refreshingly straightforward.
âAdam Sandler conducted the service there and he told them to âkeep kissing,â in its simplest form. Thatâs a good thing,â Reid revealed.
The veteran coach, who has worked alongside Travis since drafting him to the Chiefs in 2013, expanded on the sentiment with some advice of his own.
âItâs hard to argue when you give your wife a kiss or your wife gives you a kiss,â he said. âAnd make sure you do it every day, every minute that you have an opportunity to. Knock it out, and you wonât have any problems.â
A friendship years in the making
Adamâs role in the ceremony came as little surprise to those close to the couple.
The comedian has become good friends with Travis over the past few years, with the NFL star making a cameo appearance in Happy Gilmore 2 before welcoming Adam onto the New Heights podcast alongside brother Jason Kelce in 2024.
During that appearance, Adam couldnât hide his familyâs excitement over Travis and Taylorâs romance.
âYou guys being together,â he said at the time, âwhen you guys first started dating, my God was my family like, âYes! Look how good they are together, heâs a gentleman! And sheâs having so much fun with him!'â
He added: âAny time Taylor is laughing with you, my whole family is like high-fiving.â
A star-studded celebration
Taylor and Travisâs wedding transformed Madison Square Garden into one of the most exclusive venues in the world, with Hollywood royalty, music superstars and sporting legends all in attendance.
Among the guests were Bradley Cooper, Steven Spielberg, Jay-Z, Selena Gomez, Sabrina Carpenter, Tom Brady, Hugh Grant, Tom Hanks and Gigi Hadid, while a large contingent from the Kansas City Chiefs also travelled to New York to celebrate with the couple.
Reid was joined by Chiefs owner Clark Hunt and his family, quarterback Patrick Mahomes and many of Travisâs teammates, reflecting the close-knit bond the tight end has built within the organisation during his 12 seasons in Kansas City.
One notable absentee
One Chiefs player was noticeably absent from the guest list.
Kicker Harrison Butker was reportedly the only member of the current roster not invited to the wedding following the controversy surrounding his 2024 commencement speech at Benedictine College.
At the time, Butker drew widespread criticism after encouraging women to prioritise being homemakers over pursuing careers, while also making comments about abortion and the LGBTQ+ community.
Despite disagreeing with much of the speech, Travis publicly defended his teammate during the backlash, describing Butker as âa great person,â while both Reid and Patrick Mahomes also voiced support for him amid calls for his dismissal from the team.
For Taylor and Travis, however, the focus remained firmly on celebrating the start of married life, with Sandlerâs memorable advice to âkeep kissingâ providing one of the most talked-about moments from their fairytale ceremony.
