Emma Roberts traded something blue for something black after dark.
The âAmerican Horror Storyâ star, 35, married actor Cody John in an off-white, antique-effect silk chiffon gown â then changed into something decidedly less traditional for the after-party.
Her second look for the Idaho nuptials was a black strapless Chantilly lace corset and tea-length skirt fluttering with strips of silk organza, befitting a theme she described to Vogue as âboudoir saloon.â
âI love the idea of wearing black for the after-party,â Roberts told the outlet at her final fitting. âWe love doing something thatâs a little unexpected.â
The outfit was based on a look from Lhuillierâs fall 2004 collection, which debuted on the runway when Roberts was just a pre-teen. The actressâ version had a shorter hemline though â all the better for dancing the night away.
She was drawn to the timelessness of the ensemble, she told Vogue: âThis looks like it could be totally vintage from 100 years ago, or from now.â
One friend at the fitting called dibs on borrowing the set after its big night.
Roberts wed John, 29, on Saturday at Johnâs familyâs estate in Sun Valley, per exclusive photos obtained by Page Six.
Her 5-year-old son, Rhodes, whom she shares with ex Garrett Hedlund, walked her down the aisle as guests held white umbrellas for shade in the 95-degree heat. An insider told us the ceremony ran about 45 minutes.
The ceremony dress, made over nine months and over nearly 1,000 hours, had a built-in corset, a high slit up the left leg and a removable asymmetrical shawl. She wanted to look âlike a little antique ghost dollâ for the festivities, she told Vogue.
John wore a tuxedo, while the brideâs aunt, Julia Roberts, looked on in a flowy polka-dotted dress.
The night before, exclusive photos caught the couple taking their wedding party bar-hopping in Ketchum after the rehearsal dinner, Roberts in a semi-sheer white chiffon dress and white stilettos.
The two confirmed their romance in August 2022 and got engaged in July 2024.
