The Defender Burghley Horse Trials, held in Lincolnshire, welcomed Peter and Harriet Phillips on Friday. The stylish pair, who married in the Cotswolds in June, looked in great spirits at the equestrian event, not to mention undoubtedly chic.
Aligning with the ongoing bohemian trend, mother-of-one Harriet donned a floral blouse by British high street favourite Boden, which she tucked into the high waistband of her trousers from WIGGY KIT.
The NHS nurse completed her look with a pair of Penelope Chilvers pumps and a bag from Anya Hindmarch. Peter, meanwhile, expertly coordinated with his wife, donning a cap, a checkered shirt, jeans and a brown waistcoat.
Princess Kate’s tote bag of choice
Later in the day, the weather took a somewhat chilly turn, so Harriet layered up with a black ME+EM jacket and carried the ‘Neeson Square Tote’ in cobalt blue by Anya Hindmarch.
This is a new addition to Harriet’s bag collection, and her royal in-law, the Princess of Wales, has the same style in white, which she carried at Wimbledon in 2025.
At the time, royal fashion fans seemed surprised by Kate’s bag choice. It was quite a unique fashion move for Prince William’s wife, as she famously loves structured, classic bags like clutches or top-handled pieces. This style is likened to a beach bag, with its slouchy, woven leather detail.
Twinning at Royal Ascot 2026
This is the second time the royal ladies have worn the same bag. At Royal Ascot this year, the pair may have attended on two separate days, but they had a twinning fashion moment – carrying the same Anya Hindmarch ‘Maud’ clutch bag, 48 hours apart, albeit in different colours.
The wedding of Peter and Harriet
It’s been three months since Harriet and Peter said ‘I do’ on 6 June at All Saints Church in Cirencester. The couple married in front of members of the royal family, including the King and Queen, the Prince and Princess of Wales, and Peter’s mother, Princess Anne.
Harriet’s fairytale Emilia Wickstead gown took 140 hours to make and featured a high square neckline, long lace sleeves and a sweeping veil. She teamed it with matching white Jimmy Choo heels. Peter and Harriet were joined by Sex Education star George Robinson, former Olympic champion Victoria Pendleton, Lady Madeleine Lloyd Webber and Ben Fogle.
