BBC Radio 1 host Greg James has shared an insight into Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s spectacular wedding. The couple tied the knot on July 3 at Madison Square Garden.

Speaking on his BBC Radio 1 breakfast show, Greg revealed that there was no official sit down dinner at the wedding and explained that “a lot of the Brits did sort of congregate for a bit, and then everyone went off and did their own thing”. He also shared that there were multiple wedding cakes and joked “the first 10,000 drinks were free”.

Greg also confirmed that the wedding guests used the same Madison Square Garden arena toilets that fans use at sporting events held at the venue. “The venue looked beautiful, and it was all decked out as a wedding venue, but you know, arena toilets are arena toilets, so just toilets, you know,” he said. The radio host added that Taylor’s cats were not present at the nuptials.

The BBC star attended the wedding alongside his wife and fellow presenter Graham Norton. “So, Graham Norton was the only other person in the UK who was publicly invited to the wedding back in October when Taylor Swift was doing the interviews, so she invited me, and she invited Graham Norton,” said Greg.

Greg revealed that he spoke to the happy couple on their big day. “I went and found her, I went and found him, had a little chat. I just said, you know, what you say to the bride and groom, I said what a great thing, great, loved it, thanks so much for the invitation,” he shared.

“I actually did say to her, ‘do you know how difficult it’s been to keep this a secret, doing a radio show every day?’, so I did say that to her, and they were just having a great time, and they both looked amazing.”

The ceremony was officiated by Adam Sandler. The singer chose her brother as Man of Honor, and Travis chose his brother Jason as Best Man. The couple invited approximately 1,000 guests and there was a black-tie dress code, with women expected to wear floor-length dresses while men would wear a tuxedo with a jacket, black bow tie and matching satin striped trousers.

Taylor chose a bespoke Christian Dior Haute Couture wedding gown for her big day. The dress was designed by the maison’s newly appointed creative director, Jonathan Anderson, making the bride’s gown his first couture wedding dress. The singer completed her bridal look with custom Christian Louboutin shoes and elegant Cartier jewellery. Her husband also opted for a custom Dior Haute Couture suit.

During the event, the iconic venue paid tribute to the couple outside. The building was illuminated with bright pink “JUST&T MARRIED!” signs before the arena shared a photo on X alongside the caption, “It’s a love story,” referencing Taylor’s 2008 anthem “Love Story”

Good Morning America co-anchors Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos and Michael Strahan, who were among the guests at the July 3 celebration, revealed that the couple wrote their own wedding vows. “They brought their own vows,” said Robin during the GMA broadcast. “Little book,” added George.
