Lindsay Lohan was double the trouble playing 11-year-old twins in The Parent Trap — but would she reprise the role as an adult?

Lohan, 40, exclusively tells Us that she’d consider revisiting the characters of long-lost twins Annie and Hallie but only after she “sees the script.”

“And [after I] talk to Nancy Meyers, out of respect to her, because she’s phenomenal and made a great movie in The Parent Trap that we did together,” Lohan adds while promoting her partnership with Reese’s to celebrate the one-anniversary of Reese’s Oreo.

The actress played both Annie and Hallie in the 1998 film, who after their parents separated, grew up in London and Napa Valley, California, respectively, without any knowledge of the other’s existence.

It’s been more than two decades since fans were reintroduced to The Parent Trap with the 1998 remake of the 1961 original — and viewers are still singing “Let’s get together, yeah, yeah, yeah!” The reboot, starring Lindsay Lohan as 11-year-old twins Annie James and Hallie Parker, gained its own dedicated fanbase after its release […]

After meeting accidentally at summer camp, the twins switch places and ultimately bring their mom, Elizabeth James (the late Natasha Richardson), and dad Nick Parker (Dennis Quaid), back together with a little “trap.”

Meyers, 76, directed and cowrote the 1998 version of the Disney classic, which originally premiered in 1961 and starred Hayley Mills as mischievous twins Susan and Sharon.

While the original Parent Trap had an iconic musical number in which the twins performed “Let’s Get Together” for their parents, the reboot with Lohan seemingly made Oreos dipped in peanut butter a summertime staple for kids nationwide. (In the 1998 film, Annie and Hallie bond over their love of dipping the cookies in peanut butter while stuck in the “isolation cabin” together.)

“Ooo. I remember having a lot. Too many. And I love Oreos too,” Lohan tells Us of eating the sweets on set. “I’m such an Oreo girl. Now, I’m [into] gluten-free Oreos, but I love Oreos.”

The Parent Trap’s nod to the snack and Lohan’s love of the cookies made her partnership with Reese’s for the one-year anniversary of the Reese’s Oreo — which features an all-new commercial — the perfect collab.

“It’s such an iconic combo, people love Oreos and peanut butter,” Lohan tells Us about why she wanted to team up with the brands. “To do something like this together — [and] to make it in one — I think is just genius.”

The Parent Trap made its mark on legions of moviegoers, including the film’s leading little lady. Lindsay Lohan shared her appreciation for the 1998 family comedy — Disney’s remake of its own 1961 classic starring Hayley Mills — marking the movie’s 26th anniversary via social media on Tuesday, July 30. In an Instagram post from […]

The Freakier Friday actress notes that the combined Reese’s Oreo “tastes really yummy and sweet and savory.”

“It was just really exciting to bring it all together, and then to have Patricia [Arquette] and Amy [Sedaris] come on was just a no-brainer,” Lohan says of the commercial, which was directed by Arquette, 58, and featured Sedaris, 65, meeting her own long-lost twin.

Lohan gushes about working with Arquette, calling her “great” and “carefree” as a director and leader behind the camera.

“She was so fun and welcoming, and it was just a great, wonderful experience,” she says of Arquette. “She’s amazing, and she has such an eye for little moments. Like if there’s something else that I could do, she [came] and [told] me. And I love when directors do that.”

When it comes to acting alongside Sedaris, Lohan reveals it was “hard” not to break character.

“She’s unfiltered in the best way possible, and she was very collaborative, so it was very fun to kind of riff with her,” Lohan tells Us. “And we kind of did some adlibbing, which was wonderful.”

More than three decades after Hayley Mills wooed fans in 1961’s The Parent Trap, Disney rebooted the classic and produced an equally as big box office hit. The 1998 film, which starred Lindsay Lohan as identical twins, Annie James and Hallie Parker, followed the sisters after they are reunited while attending the same Camp Walden […]

In addition to working with Reese’s for their anniversary Reese’s Oreo commercial, Lohan is looking forward to her next career chapter after turning 40 earlier this month.

She tells Us her “big goals” for this next decade include “being a great mom, continuing to be the best mom I can be, the best wife I can be, the best daughter, sister I can be, woman and entrepreneur, businesswoman, actress I can be.” (Lohan shares son Luai, 3, with husband Bader Shammas.)

“Just being my best self is always a goal to me, and always elevating myself and challenging myself in the right ways,” Lohan explains. “I’m working very hard with my husband. We’re building something right now, and it’s very exciting.”

Lohan isn’t ready to spill what she and Shammas, 39, are working on just yet, but tells Us that her work on the upcoming TV series Count My Lies is something she is also “very excited about.”

“It’s really become something special to me and precious, and I really hope people enjoy that,” she adds of the show, based on the best-selling novel, which she will star in alongside Shailene Woodley and Kit Harington. “Just putting my 100 into everything that I do and love in life is my main goal.”
