It’s a love story, baby, they said, “Yes.”
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce officially celebrated their newlyweds era in front of family, friends and celebrity pals in New York City. The singer and the NFL star hosted a star-studded, blow-out wedding extravaganza at Madison Square Garden Friday night.
Just around 7:30 p.m. ET, MSG confirmed the news with pink digital screens around the venue that read, “JUST&T MARRIED!” They were up for approximately half an hour.
Swift’s longtime publicist, Tree Paine, who was at the wedding, also confirmed the news to Page Six, revealing both Swift and Kelce’s wedding looks were created by Christian Dior Haute Couture (designed by Jonathan Anderson, Creative Director of Dior Women’s, Men’s and Haute Couture Collections, in close collaboration with the bride and groom), with shoes custom-made by Christian Louboutin. The “Lover” songstress accessorized with jewelry by Cartier.
The newlyweds did not have any bridesmaids or groomsmen for the ceremony, which was officiated by Adam Sandler. Instead, Swift’s brother, Austin, served as the singer’s “Man of Honor,” while Kelce’s brother and “New Heights” co-host, Jason, was the athlete’s “Best Man.”
The couple — who donated $26 million to charity before their lavish bash — were celebrated by their closest friends, family members and celebrity pals at the iconic venue, which is home to the New York Knicks, the New York Rangers and plenty of A-list concerts and events, on Friday.
Famous guests in attendance included Selena Gomez, Miranda Lambert, Ed Sheeran, Karlie Kloss, Gigi Hadid, Bradley Cooper, Dakota Johnson, MGK, Camila Cabello, Benson Boone, Zoë Kravitz, Hugh Grant, Kelsea Ballerini, Ethan Hawke, Suki Waterhouse, Jack Antonoff, Mike Vrabel, Erin Andrews, Matthew Stafford, Kyle and Kristen Juszczyk, George and Claire Kittle and many more.
The celebration — which transformed The Garden into an ethereal garden — kicked off one day after Swift and Kelce hosted an intimate rehearsal at the venue Thursday evening, with the indoor arena lighting up pink in honor of the couple’s epic love story.
Hours before Thursday’s event, multiple sources told Page Six that Swift and Kelce, both 36, had already tied the knot in private. Insiders told us that the two said “I do” in front of an intimate group of loved ones ahead of their spectacle at MSG.
Prior to the nuptials, Swift’s Rhode Island mansion was abuzz with activity on June 17, as apparent guests were spotted at the compound — with armed guards surrounding the property. Meanwhile, Kelce was seen partying with pals in Los Angeles that same night, at West Hollywood hot spot Bird Streets Club.
The pair had also recently stepped out for a high-profile date night during Swift’s induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame on June 11.
Sources previously told Page Six that Swift and Kelce planned to host a wedding ceremony at Madison Square Garden, where Swift has performed several sold-out shows over the years. The singer has hit the indoor arena stage eight times: Once for 2009’s “Fearless” tour, twice for her “Speak Now” tour and four times for the Z100 Jingle Ball.
“Everyone’s been sworn to secrecy,” one insider told us in June, with another noting that when “you have billions,” you can transform a space like MSG “into a wedding venue.”
One source shared that Swift and Kelce’s potential plan would involve wedding guests being transported to the venue in blacked-out buses — taking advantage of MSG’s multiple entrances and highly secure infrastructure for complete privacy.
At the time, reps for MSG did not respond to Page Six’s repeated requests for comment.
While the majority of the couple’s wedding plans were kept tightly under wraps, previous reports claimed that the singer planned to get married on or around July 3 — as the Fourth of July holiday is famously one of Swift’s favorite special occasions.
MSG suspiciously had no events on its calendar between June 29 and July 6.
Fueling the rumors even further, Swift and Kelce made a few appearances at MSG in recent months.
Swift was in the Garden on June 10, watching Game 4 of the NBA Finals featuring the Knicks vs. the San Antonio Spurs. The singer rocked a blue shirt reading “Stevie Knicks,” and was accompanied by her close pals Este and Alana Haim.
Swift has also been a Knicks fan for years. Although she and Kelce sat courtside at the Rocket Arena to watch the Knicks take on the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 3 of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals in May — with Kelce, a native of Ohio, rooting for the Cavs — fans on social media pointed out the singer’s history of cheering on the Knicks.
Swift publicly rocked Knicks merch in the mid-2010s, wearing a jersey and hat as she posed alongside comedian Jimmy Fallon in 2015. She also memorably posed on the court with former Knicks players Amar’e Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony.
Swift and Kelce’s wedding comes 10 months after the lovebirds announced they were engaged.
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨,” they captioned several photos from Kelce’s romantic proposal in a joint Instagram post on Aug. 26, 2025.
The gorgeous pics featured Kelce getting down on one knee in a beautiful garden to pop the question with an old mine brilliant-cut sparkler that was co-designed by Kindred Lubec.
The post was set to Swift’s track “So High School,” which the songstress has confirmed she wrote about her now-husband.
Not surprisingly, the engagement news broke the internet, smashing Instagram records by receiving one million reposts in under six hours.
Page Six exclusively confirmed that Kelce proposed to Swift right after they filmed her record-breaking “New Heights” podcast episode together. The special was filmed just a few weeks before they announced their engagement on social media.
A source told us at the time that while the two were filming the podcast, there were other people hard at work in Kelce’s backyard, getting it ready for his proposal.
“He knew that he wanted to marry her. [The date] was just a matter of when the timing was right,” an insider told us about Kelce’s decision to propose. “It was less about the significance of the time and [more about] when he could actually do it in between her tour and his season.”
The couple’s relationship famously started when Kelce publicly recounted trying — and failing — to give Swift his phone number at the Kansas City, Missouri, stop of her Eras Tour in July 2023.
“She doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings,” Kelce said of Swift declining to meet him on an episode of his “New Heights” podcast. “I took it personal.”
Kelce shared that he was planning to give Swift a friendship bracelet — which Swift fans make and trade with others at her show — with his phone number on it.
“I was a little butthurt that I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her,” he admitted.
But Swift definitely appreciated the bold gesture, telling Time in December 2023 of their romance, “This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell.”
Rumors that the lovebirds started dating began in September 2023, when an insider told the Messenger that the two had been “quietly hanging out” in New York.
Amid the romance speculation, Kelce revealed he invited Swift to a Kansas City Chiefs game during his appearance on the Pat McAfee Show in September 2023.
“I told her, ‘I’ve seen you rock the stage in Arrowhead, you might have to come see me rock a stage at Arrowhead, and we can see which one’s a little more lit,’” he said, referencing his NFL team’s home stadium.
“I thew it out there, I threw the ball in her court,” he added.
Pandemonium ensued just days later, when Swift attended the Chiefs vs. Chicago Bears game on Sept. 23, watching from Kelce’s suite alongside his mom, Donna.
NFL cameras repeatedly cut to Swift enthusiastically cheering Kelce on during the game, sporting the team’s colors by rocking a red-and-white zip-up jacket over a white top.
Pics later emerged of the two cuddling after the game as they celebrated at a private party at Prime Social in Kansas City, Missouri. The following week, Kelce gushed about how “amazing” Swift looked.
“Everybody was talking about her in great light and, on top of that, the day went perfect for Chiefs fans, of course,” Kelce said on another episode of his “New Heights” podcast.
“That was pretty ballsy,” he added of Swift’s decision to attend his game. “I just thought it was awesome how everyone in the suite had nothing but great things to say about her — the friends and family.”
Swift subsequently became a fixture at Kelce’s games, proudly cheering on her man and bringing her celebrity pals with her, including Blake Lively, Selena Gomez, Hugh Jackman and more.
As their relationship blossomed, the two were frequently photographed on dates and didn’t shy away from packing on the PDA. Kelce was praised by Swift fans for being a gentleman, as he was spotted holding doors for her and talking with her security on various occasions.
Kelce also attended multiple stops of Swift’s “Eras” tour, dancing along to her hits and interacting with fans and fellow celebrities. Kelce even joined Swift on stage during the London stop of her Eras Tour in June 2024, performing a skit for the “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” transition.
Fans also noted how Swift’s romance with Kelce was noticeably different from her previous relationships, as it appeared many of her famous exes — including Jake Gyllenhaal, Harry Styles and Joe Alwyn — did not seem to enjoy all the public attention that came with dating the high-profile singer.
In her interview with Time, Swift talked about her and Kelce supporting one another’s careers.
“When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care,” she explained. “The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.”
Swift has clearly gotten the stamp of approval from Kelce’s loved ones, including his father, Ed, who praised the songwriter as “very smart” in an interview with People in October 2023.
He also described her as a “very, very sweet, very charming, down-to-earth young woman.”
Swift’s family — mom Andrea, dad Scott and younger brother Austin — are also fans of Kelce, happily attending Kelce’s games alongside the singer.
Swift was by Kelce’s side in February 2024, when the Kansas City Chiefs won Super Bowl LVIII. They memorably kissed on the field after the Chiefs clinched the win.
Swift was also by his side when the Chiefs lost the Super Bowl in February 2025 to the Philadelphia Eagles. An insider told us at the time that Swift still couldn’t be more proud of Kelce, and that the two were “going to take some time away to vacation with just the two of them, talk about their future and just relax.”
More milestones for the couple included Kelce making things Instagram-official in July 2025, when he posted intimate pictures of the two enjoying their “adventures” during his offseason from football.
The couple also shared a full-circle moment when Swift appeared on the “New Heights” podcast that aired on Aug. 13, 2025, to announce her 12th album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” and reminisced about the beginning of their relationship.
“I owe a lot to this podcast,” she said, recalling how Kelce first revealed his crush on her during a 2023 episode.
“This podcast got me a boyfriend, ever since Travis decided to use it as his personal dating app about two years ago,” she cracked.
Swift’s “Life of a Showgirl” album contained plenty of references to her storybook romance with Kelce — most notably about settling down and having kids.
In her song “Wi$h Li$t”, Swift sings, “I just want you / Have a couple kids / Got the whole block looking like you / We tell the world to leave us the f–k alone … and they do / Wow.”
“Got me dreaming ’bout a driveway / with a basketball hoop / Boss up, settle down / Got a wish list / I just want you,” the lyrics also include.
And in her arguably most explicit song to date, “Wood,” Swift sings about her “curse” of bad relationships being “broken” by a “magic wand.”
“Forgive me, it sounds cocky / he (ah!)matized me / And opened my eyes,” Swift sings on the track. “Redwood tree / It ain’t hard to see / His love was the key / That opened my thighs.”
“Girls, I don’t need to catch the bouquet / To know a hard rock is on the way,” she also sings, later adding, “Seems to me that you and me we make our own luck / New Heights of manhood / I ain’t gotta knock on wood.”
Since then, Swift has continued to publicly gush about her connection with Kelce.
“I love the person that I am with because he loves what I do and he loves how much I am fulfilled by making art and making music,” she shared on BBC Radio 2’s “The Scott Mills Breakfast Show” in October 2025. “That’s the coolest thing about Travis, like, he is so passionate about what he does, that me being passionate about what I do, it connects us.”
Swift also noted that Kelce would never be “upset” about her still making music after they get married.
“It just is the most fun thing in the world,” she added, “to like be able to support each other.”
