Cristiano Ronaldo has unveiled a dramatic new look just days after tying the knot with longtime partner Georgina Rodriguez. The 41-year-old football superstar looked almost unrecognisable as he returned to training sporting a closely cropped ginger-toned buzz cut with a high skin fade. It’s a striking departure for Cristiano, who has remained remarkably loyal to his trademark dark, slicked-back locks throughout much of his career.
The Al-Nassr star appeared relaxed as he trained alongside teammates including Sadio Mané and Kingsley Coman ahead of the new season, beginning married life with both a fresh start and a fresh haircut. His transformation comes just days after Cristiano and Georgina, 32, finally said “I do” following a decade together.
The couple married in an intimate civil ceremony in Cascais, Portugal, on Tuesday, surrounded by their five children. Cristiano later confirmed the happy news by sharing a photograph of their wedding bands on Instagram. A representative for the sports star described the ceremony as a “private and intimate moment” attended by the couple’s children.
The wedding came a year after Cristiano and Georgina became engaged and followed days of speculation over when – and where – they would finally exchange vows. At one point, thousands of fans reportedly gathered outside Funchal Cathedral in Madeira amid rumours the superstar couple were preparing to marry there. However, the ceremony taking place at the cathedral turned out to belong to an entirely different Portuguese couple, with Cristiano and Georgina instead opting for a far more discreet celebration in Cascais.
Cristiano and Georgina’s love story began in Madrid in 2016 when she was working as a sales assistant at Gucci. Georgina has previously recalled experiencing instant “butterflies” when the footballer walked into the store with his eldest son and friends. The pair began seeing one another soon afterwards, with Georgina revealing in her Netflix series I Am Georgina that Cristiano would sometimes collect her from work in one of his luxury cars.
They have since built a family together, raising Cristiano’s eldest son Cristiano Jr, twins Eva and Mateo, and daughters Alana Martina and Bella Esmeralda. Their family endured tragedy in 2022 when the couple revealed that Bella’s twin brother, Ángel, had died during childbirth. Cristiano later credited Georgina with helping hold their family together through the devastating loss, while the pair have frequently shared glimpses of their close-knit home life.
