Shania Twain proved she remains every inch the superstar as she took to the stage at Wembley Stadium in a show-stopping ensemble while supporting Harry Styles on the opening night of his historic London residency.

The country music icon, who turned 60 this year, looked sensational in a black lace-up corset paired with tiny hotpants, sheer tights and knee-high suede boots as she performed in front of tens of thousands of fans.

Adding extra glamour to the look, Shania accessorised with fingerless sheer gloves, a chunky silver choker, matching bracelet and layered gold necklaces.

The Canadian singer commanded the stage as she treated the crowd to some of her biggest hits, including That Don’t Impress Me Much and Man! I Feel Like a Woman!, before Harry made his highly anticipated appearance.

The performance marked the beginning of Harry’s unprecedented 12-show Wembley residency, the longest ever by a solo artist at the iconic London venue.

Fans were quick to praise Shania’s energetic set and age-defying appearance, with the star looking every bit as confident and charismatic as she did during her chart-topping heyday.

Taking to Instagram after the concert, Shania reflected on the special evening and the warm welcome she received from the crowd. “Wembley Stadium
WOW!” she wrote alongside photographs from the performance.

“What a way to kick off this run of shows with my gorgeous friend @harrystyles.

“You were so loud!! Thank you for welcoming this Canadian girl with so much love.”

Shania is set to join Harry for all of his London dates, which celebrate the release of his fourth studio album, Kiss All the Time, Disco Occasionally.

While the singer made performing look effortless on stage, her return to live music has been hard-earned.

In her documentary Shania Twain: Not Just A Girl, she revealed how a tick bite in 2003 led to a diagnosis of Lyme disease, causing frightening symptoms that threatened both her health and career.

“The tick was infected with Lyme’s Disease, and I did get Lyme’s Disease and my symptoms were quite scary,” she explained.

“I was on stage feeling dizzy, I was losing my balance, I was afraid I was going to fall off the stage.”

The illness also affected her voice, something she once feared could end her singing career altogether.

“I thought I’d lost my voice forever, I thought I’d never ever sing again,” she admitted.

The Grammy-winning star described learning how to work with the changes to her voice, gradually rebuilding her confidence and ability to perform.

Speaking previously about the emotional toll of the illness, Shania revealed she went through a difficult period of grief and uncertainty.

“I also felt that I was never going to make another album,” she told The Sun.

“It was devastating. I really grieved about that. It did bring me down and I struggled with it every day.”

Thankfully, the singer eventually found her way back to the stage and launched a successful Las Vegas residency in 2012, marking the start of a remarkable comeback.
