Trooping the Colour is just around the corner, which means another anticipated family outing for the Waleses. The Prince and Princess of Wales have regularly joined in on the annual festivities alongside their three children, including young Prince Louis who has provided boundless entertainment in the past with his playful expressions.

Following the military parade, the royals will return to Buckingham Palace to watch the finale from the balcony. The balcony appearance has given royal fans many memorable moments from Louis, eight, and his siblings, Prince George, 12, and Princess Charlotte, 11.

Louis’ playful side

Louis showed his playful side in 2023 when he imitated a Red Arrow on the balcony. The young royal adorably scrunched his face and threw up his arms while his siblings remained cool, calm and collected.

Trooping the Colour, also known as The King's Birthday Parade, is a military ceremony to mark the official birthday of the British Sovereign. The ceremony, which takes place at Horse Guards Parade followed by a flypast over Buckingham Palace, was first performed in the mid-17th century during the reign of King Charles II. The parade features all seven regiments of the Household Division with Number 7 Company Coldstream Guards being the regiment this year having their Colour Trooped. Like mother, like daughter

While her brothers enjoyed a sweet moment together, Charlotte stayed close to her mother’s side at last year’s ceremony.

Kate, who beamed down at her daughter in one heartwarming photo of them riding in the carriage together, matched Charlotte in blue for the special occasion.
