Meghan Trainor shared with fans that she had made the heartbreaking decision to cancel her Get In Girl Tour, which was set to kick off on June 12. The “All About That Bass” singer took to Instagram on Thursday to explain that she needed to focus on her young family and thus cancel the 30-stop North American tour.
“After a lot of reflection and some really tough conversations, I’ve made the decision to cancel the Get In Girl Tour,” she began on her Instagram story.
“Balancing the release of a new album, preparing for a nationwide tour, and welcoming our new baby girl to our growing family of five has just been more than I can take on right now, and I need to be home and present for each and all of them at this time.”
Meghan and her husband, Daryl Sabara, welcomed their daughter, Mikey Moon, in January via surrogate. “I know this will come as a disappointment to my fans, and I am so sorry to let you down,” she continued. “But I know this is the right decision for my family and me right now.”
“I promise I’ll be back soon, and I can’t wait for you to hear this new record. I’m so proud of it, and I’m endlessly grateful for your love and support always.” The blonde beauty, who is also a mom to sons Riley, five, and Barry, two, announced the arrival of her baby girl on January 21.
“Our baby girl, Mikey Moon Trainor, has finally made it to the world thanks to our incredible, superwoman surrogate,” she wrote on social media. “We are over the moon in love with this precious girl. Riley and Barry have been so excited, they even got to choose her middle name.”
Meghan hinted at her upcoming tour cancelation in an interview with Us Weekly, where she spoke about the mental load of motherhood.

“You have to take care of your mental health first,” she said. “I’m on antidepressants. I’m in therapy every week. I was in couples therapy for a minute when we needed it…I just got diagnosed with ADHD. I’m testing my blood, poop, my everything, to make sure I’m at peak healthiness.”
“I love asking for help,” she continued. “I’m like, ‘How can I improve in every way?’ I can’t do it all. I wish I could, and I can’t.”
Meghan’s announcement comes just months after she was pulled into the drama surrounding Ashley Tisdale’s “toxic mom group” essay published in The Cut in December. The High School Musical alum detailed her departure from the group filled with A-list stars like Hilary Duff and Mandy Moore, which sparked a social media explosion as many dissected their friendship dynamics.
“It was really hard for a lot of moms, and I felt so bad,” Meghan told Us Weekly. “I felt bad for Ashley that she was ever that sad. I think it was just a lot of miscommunication and confusion.”
“Ashley texted me, ‘I’m sorry, your name got dragged in.’ And I was like, ‘It’s all right, girl. The world’s a silly, crazy place, and they just want something to talk about.'”
