Country star Megan Moroney was forced to cancel her Colorado concert mid-set on Tuesday night, telling fans through tears she was too sick to continue performing.
The 28-year-old singer performed āStupid,ā āMedicineā and āBless Your Heartā during her gig at Ball Arena in Denver, Colo., before she appeared visibly emotional as she apologized to the crowd and left the stage, according to fan-recorded video shared on social media.
āI am obviously extremely sick, and I thought I did everything to make myself better, and obviously, two songs in, I just canāt play this show tonight,ā Moroney told the audience.
āI want to give you guys the show you deserve ⦠Iām sorry.ā
Moroney later confirmed on social media that the concert had been canceled, calling it āthe hardest decision Iāve ever had to make.ā
āIām so sorry to cancel the show tonight,ā she shared on her Instagram Story shortly after the performance.
āI never ever will give you guys a show that is not 100% and by song 3 I knew that I was not capable of giving that to you tonight.ā
āIām typing this as Iām quite literally bawling my eyes out in my dressing room & it hurts me so much to disappoint you all,ā she added.
Moroney also announced the Denver show has been rescheduled for Aug. 27.
āI will be back August 27, and all tickets purchased for tonightās show will be honored for the new date,ā she wrote.
āIf you canāt make the rescheduled date, refunds are available at the point of purchase.ā
āIāve never had to do this & Iām truly so sorry,ā she concluded.
Fans at Ball Arena shared messages of support on social media after the concert was cut short.
āI was there and I thought she was joking now Iām balling she was the first ever person I saw in a concert,ā one fan said.
āI was there she was so good I hope she feels better soon,ā another fan posted.
Moroney is next scheduled to perform Saturday at the Moda Center in Portland, Ore. However, it is not immediately clear whether the show will go ahead as planned before the tour continues with stops in Seattle, Sacramento and Los Angeles.
The āTennessee Orangeā hitmaker has been on the road in support of her latest album āCloud 9.ā
The canceled concert came less than a week after Moroney sparked dating speculation with USMNT star Christian Pulisic, 27, when the pair were spotted together at Dierks Bentleyās Whiskey Row in Nashville.
Despite the rumors, Moroney told Cosmopolitan earlier in July that she is single.
āItās really nice that this is one of the first tours Iāve been on where Iām not dating anyone, so I literally have no distractions,ā she said.
āAnd that sounds really silly, but there have been a lot of big moments and fun times that have been ruined by a guy for me. Itās nice to just have a clear head.ā
