One of the biggest sitcoms of the 1990s was the BBC’s One Foot in the Grave, which focused on the exploits of early retiree Victor Meldrew, played by Richard Wilson.

While the show focused on Victor’s antics, one of the most beloved characters from the sitcom was his long-suffering wife, Margaret, played by Annette Crosbie. Margaret often served as her husband’s comic foil, before becoming a more complex character.

Annette, now aged 92, starred in the show for ten years, appearing in all six of the show’s seasons, as well as its special episodes. However, the star also appeared in the likes of The Pope Must Die, Calendar Girls and Into the Woods.

However, her most successful roles were in The Six Wives of Henry VIII, where she played Catherine of Aragon, and Edward the Seventh, where she portrayed Queen Victoria. Both of these roles saw the star win BAFTA Awards for Best Actress.

Away from her career, Annette initially found love with Michael Griffiths, with the pair marrying in 1966 and welcoming two children. However, the couple ended up splitting in 1985.

The couple’s daughter, Selina, ended up following her mother into the world of acting. Scroll down for all you need to know about her…

Annette’s daughter is also a popular actress

Annette and Selina have a close relationship, and in an interview with The Independent in 1998, Annette shared that the pair even lived together. “These days, I live with my daughter, who fortunately is as crazy about greyhounds as I am because we’ve now taken on another two,” she told the publication.

The actress is passionate about protecting greyhounds and revealed in the same interview that her daughter has a particular habit when she brings up her campaigns. She admitted: “Now my daughter leaves the room when I get on my high horse. Or she can be very crafty and say: ‘you’re upsetting the dogs!'”
