Full house, empty wallet.
Jodie Sweetin revealed that she recently received a whopping $.01 residual check for her eight-season stint on the original “Full House” sitcom.
The actress, who played the witty Stephanie Tanner from 1987 to 1995 and again from 2016 to 2020, shared the surprising residual figure during the “McBride Rewind” podcast on April 21.
“I got a one-cent check the other day,” Sweetin, 44, told host Josh McBride. “There’s no syndication anymore because it’s all in streaming. Who gets paid for that? Nobody gets paid for that.”
Although the “Dancing With the Stars” alum acknowledged that she received more “Full House” residual money when she was younger, she explained that it dried up because the ABC show doesn’t run on TV as often.
“Sure, in my 20s, there would be money, but not reliable,” Sweetin said. “You don’t know how much it’s going to be or how often they’re going to run the show.”
She continued, “So, sometimes you’re like, ‘Oh, cool. That was nice.’ And then sometimes you’re like, ‘All right, well, there’s a nice dinner out.’”
The Hallmark star went on to say that she can’t “rely” on her “Full House” residual checks and, contrary to what some fans might think, she doesn’t “live some extravagant life.”
The main cast of “Friends,” meanwhile, still earns a staggering $20 million every year in residuals two decades after their sitcom ended in 2004.
“I drive my 2023 used Hyundai Sonata that I love. I rent my house. I have credit cards that are maxed out. I live a normal life,” Sweetin shared. “And yeah, there are moments when you’re like, ‘This is going well.’ And there are times when you’re like, ‘I need a day job.’”
Still, Sweetin would be interested in once again reprising her role as Stephanie Tanner should another “Full House” be greenlit.
Besides Sweetin, the original sitcom starred an ensemble of household names, including the late Bob Saget as dad Danny Tanner, Dave Coulier as Uncle Joey, John Stamos as Uncle Jesse and Lori Loughlin as Aunt Becky.
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen took turns playing Michelle Tanner, while Candace Cameron Bure played D.J. Tanner and Andrea Barber appeared as neighbor Kimmy Gibbler.
The entire cast – minus Mary-Kate and Ashley – reprised their original roles when Netflix premiered “Fuller House” in February 2016.
The reboot ran on the streaming giant for five seasons before concluding in June 2020.
“I mean, we always joke that it’ll be ‘Fuller Fullest House’ and we’ll just be ancient and the kids will be wiping our asses,” Sweetin quipped about another possible revival.
“I will never say never to anything,” she concluded. “And you know, if I got to come back in another 20 years and work with these people again, who I’ve known for my entire life, yeah, I would totally do that.”
