As the Knicks’ impressive recent wins have overtaken New York City, the Today show anchors had a passionate debate about how to properly watch the game from home.

Jenna Bush Hager announced on the June 11 show that her colleages are “embracing a very important debate,” as she showed a video that has gone viral of a TV with the game on, and a small plant on the left side that was covering the corner of the frame.

The viral video was captioned: “Lordy give me patience. Anyone else’s hubby get crazy with these games?!?”

Jenna commented: “You can see that greenery taking up the teeniest corner of the screen.” She read the take of a commentor who joked: “They play at the garden, not in the garden, jeez!”

Carson Daly expressed: “That would drive me absolutely crazy. I’d have to move that.” Jenna, in disbelief, emphasized: “That tiny little thing?” Savannah Guthrie commented: “I’d say, ‘move it.'”

Craig Melvin interjected: “You gotta have the screen completely clear.” Al Roker expressed: “How hard is it to move? I mean, come on.”

Craig inquired if Jenna would be okay with it staying there, as she replied: “I would be okay with that. I feel like that tiny little thing isn’t [gonna bother anyone].”

Savannah inquired: “Let me ask you this – [move it] for just that game, because of the tension, or for anything that you’ve been watching?”

Carson explained: “Especially that game [and also for] anything.” Jenna asked Savannah: “What about you? You could watch The Pitt with that tiny [plant]?”

Savannah replied: “It would bother me. Because once you see it, you can’t unsee it.”

Fans react

Most fans online didn’t agree with Jenna’s take that it’s just a “tiny little thing,” and they flocked to social media to share their thoughts.

Michael B. Jordan reacted with two laughing emojis. One person joked: “Why even have a TV if you’re gonna park the whole New York Botanical Gardens in front of it?”

A second follower added: “It’s distracting. And everything that goes wrong is because of it.” A third fan wrote: “I don’t even know what you’re watching, can’t tell with that tree in the way.” One person joked: “I paid for the TV. I want the WHOLE TV.”
