How Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau Are Blending Their Families Ahead of 1st Anniversary (Exclusive)

Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau are committed to their future together.

“Things between Katy and Justin are very serious,” a source exclusively tells Us Weekly. “After her split from Orlando [Bloom], Katy really wasn’t expecting to jump into another relationship anytime soon, but Justin completely caught her by surprise. He came into her life at the right time, and they have developed a really strong connection.”

The insider shares that the pair have been “integrating their lives more and more,” as Perry, 41, has taken her 5-year-old daughter, Daisy, to meet Trudeau’s kids. (Perry welcomed daughter Daisy with Bloom, 49, in 2020. Trudeau, 54, is a father to his and Sophie Grégoire Trudeau’s sons Xavier, 18, and Hadrien, 12, and daughter Ella-Grace, 17.)

“Their relationship has deepened over the past several months, and they are about to celebrate their one-year anniversary,” the source shares. “They both feel it’s important to blend their families thoughtfully and at a comfortable pace.”

Perry is “really happy right now” and Trudeau has “been making a real effort to be present despite their busy schedules,” the insider reveals.

“Katy loves that Justin laughs at her jokes and understands her quirky humor,” the source says. “Her friends think he’s a good match for her. The future is definitely something they’ve talked about, and they’re both committed to seeing where this goes.”

Us Weekly reached out to reps for Perry and Trudeau.

Perry and Trudeau went public with their relationship in July 2025. The pair have since given fans glimpses of their romance via social media and stepping out for public appearances. As their first anniversary approaches, Perry and Trudeau are thinking about building a life together.

“Justin is showing Katy his new home, where he wants her to live part of the year with him,” a separate source exclusively told Us in the latest issue.

In February, The Gazette reported that Trudeau bought a two-story home in Montreal for $3.1 million, which an insider exclusively told Us is “just blocks away” from the house he shared with his now-estranged wife. (The exes separated in 2023 after 18 years of marriage.)

“It’s large enough for a blended family,” the insider shares, “and in a prestigious neighborhood where he used to live.”

Another source told Us that Perry considers California her “home base,” and has a “good rhythm with coparenting” with Bloom. For now, Perry and Trudeau are “still navigating a long-distance relationship,” according to the second insider.

But it “hasn’t been an issue” for either of them, the source says, adding, “They’ve found a rhythm that works and make a point to see each other as often as possible.”
