Ciara Wilson shared a supportive response to her husband Russell Wilson’s “1, 2 Step” off the football field.
“The best in the world!” the singer, 40, gushed via Instagram after the athlete announced his NFL retirement on Wednesday.
“There’s only one, 3!” her comment continued, referencing the quarterback’s jersey number for all 14 seasons of his career.
The Grammy winner concluded, “Always so proud of you! It’s a true blessing to go on this journey with you! My greatest inspiration! I love you so much! 🐐🫶🏽.”
Wilson, who has been married to Ciara since 2016, shared the major news by sharing a highlight reel of his time playing with his social media followers.
Ciara shared the upload to her Instagram Story, doubling down on her partner being her “greatest inspiration.”
Wilson started his NFL career in 2012 playing for the Seattle Seahawks and remained on the Washington-based team until 2021.
He went on to have brief stints with the Denver Broncos, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Giants.
In Wednesday’s video, Wilson called the sport his “safe place” and gushed over the “greatest gift” football gave him — a special bond with coaches, players and fans.
Wilson also gave a shoutout to his and Ciara’s children, saying, “I hope I’m able to give you what my father gave me. That feeling, the dream for greatness.”
The Super Bowl winner shares daughter Sienna, 9, son Win, 5, and daughter Amora, 2, with his wife.
Wilson is also the stepfather to Ciara’s son Future, 12, from the songwriter’s previous relationship.
“I thank you C,” he added on Wednesday. “I thank you Ciara for being my greatest blessing. My best friend. My partner through it all.”
He met Ciara mid-NFL career in 2015, and the couple got engaged the following year.
Wilson, notably, will continue “being around the greatest game on earth” as he joins CBS Sports’ “NFL Today” as a broadcaster.
