Hollywood mourned the deaths of some of its most legendary stars in 2026.
The year started off with Broadway performer and influencer Bret Hanna-Shufordâs death at age 46. At the end of the month, comedy acting icon Catherine OâHara died at age 71.
In February, Designing Womenâs Camilla Carr died at age 83, Dawsonâs Creek actor James Van Der Beek died at age 48, Harold and Maude star Bud Cort died at 77, Robert Duvall died at age 95 and actor Eric Dane died at age 53. That same month, Lizzie McGuire actor Robert Carradineâs family confirmed his death on February 23.
Dallas star Annabel Schofield, former NASCAR driver Chase Pistone, actor Chuck Norris, Supernatural star Carrie Anne Fleming, NHL reporter Jessi Pierce and bluegrass singer Ronnie Bowman all died in March.
In April, hip-hop pioneer Afrika Bambaataa died at age 68 of complications from cancer, Downton Abbey alum Nathalie Baye died after a battle with dementia, Days of Our Lives actor Patrick Muldoon died following a heart attack and singer Alan Osmond died at age 76.
The following month, news broke that CNN founder Ted Turner had died at 87. One Life to Live alum Jennifer Harmon died at age 82 in early May while soul singer Clarence Carter died at age 90. Voice actor Tom Kane, meanwhile, died at the age of 64 in mid-May. Later that month, former Congressman Barney Frank died at age 86 and news broke of NASCAR icon Kyle Buschâs death at 41 on May 21.
