Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones’ daughter is her mom’s striking twin as she shares major news

Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones’ daughter Carys is morphing into her mom in more ways than one. Not only is the 23-year-old following in the star’s acting footsteps but also she looks strikingly similar to her mother with her brunette locks and glowing complexion. 

Carys took to Instagram on July 1 to share a series of snaps that unveiled her NYC theater debut, as she has taken on the role of Nina in Anton Chekhov’s play The Seagull, staged by the Brooklyn-based Solid Flesh Company. Catherine’s daughter, who graduated from Brown University last year with a degree in film and international studies, moved to New York City to kickstart her own career in the entertainment industry.

The first photo captured Carys on stage dressed in a lace-trimmed dress. The following picture was a disposable camera photo of the cast enjoying a few post-show drinks at a bar. Carys also shared a stunning selfie that captured her pouting to the camera in her white frilly costume. Her brunette locks were swept back into a half-up-half-down style while her makeup was left natural and radiant.

Carys is described as “an actor based in New York. She most recently appeared in the Oscar-qualifying short film F*CK THAT GUY. Carys holds a B.A. in International Relations from Brown University. She loves hiking, singing and songwriting. She’s thrilled to be a part of this project!”

Tickets for The Seagull are available, with performances on June 20, 26 and 27 at St. Lydia’s. The show is also Solid Flesh’s very first staging “Solid Flesh Company is an exciting new theatre company based in New York City, about to embark on our inaugural season!” reads the website.

The mother-and-daughter duo’s appearance similarities also extend to their sartorial agendas.  The Brown University graduate previously admitted to People on the red carpet that she frequently borrowed from her mom’s closet and rarely bought new clothes.

“I feel I love vintage clothes. I don’t really like to buy, I’m not really into fast fashion stuff, just for sustainability reasons, so I feel very lucky that I have a wonderful closet that I can pick from,” she said. “But I should probably tell her more, because I snag a little too much. She’s like, ‘Is that my bag?’ I’m like, ‘I don’t know. I don’t think so.'”
