Carrie Johnson is a summer bombshell in Pretty Woman-inspired dress

Carrie Johnson is never short of serving serious style inspiration, especially when it comes to summer – and her latest Pretty Woman-inspired look couldn’t be more aspirational. 

Taking to her Instagram account, the mother-of-four documented a romantic boat trip she took with her husband, and former Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, along a river near their Oxfordshire home.

The image shows Carrie, who bears a striking resemblance to Julia Roberts in the 90s hit, donning a brown summer dress adorned with white polka dots from Kitri Studio as she beams for the camera at sunset

“Not sure there is any better way to spend a sunny evening than on the river,” she penned in the caption. 

Completing her look, the former media rep for the conservative party slipped on a pair of velvet pumps from Flableus, the shoe brand beloved by stars and royals alike, including Lady Amelia Windsor, who is an ambassador of the brand.

As for her hair, Carrie’s honey-blonde locks were styled in soft waves, the picture-perfect evening complete with what appeared to be a glass of wine in Carrie’s hand.

The update went down a treat with Carrie’s friends and fans who flooded the comments section with compliments.

“Pretty Woman vibes,” one of Carrie’s 164,000 followers wrote. “Beautiful dress and great to see you living and enjoying your best time. Live life to the fullest!” another wrote, alongside three red love heart emojis. Meanwhile, a third penned: “Living your best life! It looks incredible.”

Sleeping arrangements

Carrie and Boris live together at their sprawling Grade II-listed home, Brightwell Manor, in the quaint village of Brightwell-cum-Sotwell.

The property has nine bedrooms, five bathrooms and six reception rooms, and, earlier last month, the doting mother made a confession about her and her husband’s unique sleeping arrangements.

To mark her youngest daughter Poppy’s first birthday, the 38-year-old shared a series of adorable photos of the tot over the past 12 months, from playing in her doll’s house to riding on dad Boris’ shoulders. In the caption, she explained that her “velcro baby” was the reason she has been unable to have a private bedroom.

“Happy first birthday to my darling Poppy. My ‘Velcro baby’ – always happiest in my arms and still sleeping in our bed every night. Your big blue eyes and dimples melt my heart, and your laugh is the best sound I’ve ever heard. You bring us so much joy,” wrote the media consultant.

In the comments, Carrie’s confession divided fans. One penned: “What a sweetheart. Love that she’s still in your bed. Mine are too!” wrote one, while another commented: “Still sleeping in your bed? Crikey.” 

The husband and wife duo are also parents to three older children: Wilfred, Romy and Frank.
