Rihanna surprised fans by hitting the stage to perform at Jay-Zās āExtra Inningsā concert at Yankee Stadium in New York.
Early Monday morning, the āDiamondsā singer joined the rapper and sang the hook to their 2009 hit, āRun This Town.ā
After finishing that performance, Rihanna told the sold-out crowd ā which included her boyfriend, A$AP Rocky, and their 10-month-old daughter, Rocki ā āYāall know Iām rusty, right? Itās been a while. Yāall with me right now?ā
The Fenty Beauty founder, 38, then performed her 2015 track āBitch Better Have My Money.ā
Before exiting the stage, Rihanna told the audience: āI missed this sāt, yāall! New York, I love you guys!ā
The āNeeded Meā songstress hasnāt done a live show since March 2024, when she performed a private, 90-minute concert in India at the lavish pre-wedding festivities of Indian billionaire heir Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant.
Before that, Rihanna performed a medley of her hits ā while pregnant with her second son, Riot ā at the 2023 Super Bowl halftime show.
Jay-Zās third and final concert at Yankee Stadium was initially supposed to start at 8 p.m. on Sunday night.
However, the show was delayed for hours due to hordes of fans breaking through security and forcing the iconic Bronx venue into lockdown.
The ā99 Problemsā emcee, born Shawn Carter, didnāt take the stage until 12.15 a.m. Monday.
Jay-Z, 56, apologized for the chaotic scenes when he took to the stage, telling the crowd that there were ālike 10,000 people outside, and we closed all the doors, and somebody rushed the door.ā
He added, āThey closed the door for you guysā safety and everyoneās safety outside. I donāt want to start the music and people get trampled.
āIām really sorry for the inconvenience, but I had to make sure everyone was OK,ā Jay-Z continued. āI appreciate your patience.ā
Several other stars joined the hip-hop mogul onstage Monday, including Pharrell, Teyana Taylor, Usher, Jermaine Dupri and, of course, Jayās megastar wife, BeyoncĆ©, who also took the stage for night one of his Yankee Stadium residency.
