Actor Josh Grisetti died by suicide on Friday, according to his friend and Broadway star Rob McClure. He was 44.
āIt is with a shattered heart that I share that the brilliant Josh Grisetti took his own life on Friday,ā McClure wrote on Instagram Sunday alongside a carousel of images of them together.
āIām not ready to even attempt to understand. My heart is with his wife and family as they try to deal with the reality of this,ā the āGood Fightā actor, also 44, added.
āSome of my all-time favorite memories were by this manās side, playing his brother onstage for years, watching him inspire students while transforming the Musical Theatre program at Cal State Fullerton ā¦and having the honor of being the Best Man at his wedding.ā
McClure said he and his wife, Maggie Lakis, are ābeyond heartbrokenā by the tragic news.
āCommunities around the world will never be the same without him. We love you Josh. Just a cataclysmic loss,ā he wrote.
The āIām Not Rappaportā star concluded his tribute by telling fans that info about Grisettiās memorial will ācome in time.ā
In the comments section of McClureās post, several stars penned their condolences.

Grisetti was born in Washington, DC, in December 1981. In 2004, he graduated from college atĀ The Boston Conservatory with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in musical theatre.
Grisetti rose to fame in 2015 when he made his Broadway debut starring as Marty Kaufman in āIt Shoulda Been You.ā
The performance that earned the actor a Theatre World Award as well as Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Award nominations.
The following year, Grisetti solidified his Broadway career by starring as Nigel Bottom in the hit musical āSomething Rotten!.ā
Grisetti gained a wider television audience by starring in the 2007 ABC sitcom āThe Knights of Prosperity.ā In 2023, he landed a recurring role as Ralph Emerson in the final season of āThe Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.ā
Josh is survived by his wife, real estate agentĀ Mackenzie Grisetti, whom he married in February 2020.
