Alix Earle attempted to dodge questions about her ongoing feud with Alex Cooper while stopping by the Today show.
Earle, 25, appeared on the Tuesday, May 12, episode of Today to promote her new Sports Illustrated cover — and Craig Melvin quickly brought up “this back and forth” between the dueling internet personalities.
“There seems to be a bit of online beef there,” he noted. “What’s actually happening? What’s really going on?”
Earle, for her part, wouldn’t elaborate on the issues between her and Cooper.
“I’m trying to keep things pretty positive today. We don’t have that much time here, honestly,” she replied. “Also, why ruin such a good day with something not so great?”
Melvin, 47, pushed back by asking about whether there was “legitimate contiguousness” or if the drama has “all been exaggerated.”
Earle quipped in response, “No, it’s exaggerated. I love everyone.”
Melvin teased that he was “not buying it” before wrapping up his interview with Earle.
Cooper and Earle originally formed a friendship when the Dancing With the Stars alum launched her “Hot Mess” podcast in September 2023 under Cooper’s Unwell Network.
The podcast was ultimately dropped in February 2025 amid rumors of a rift between Cooper and Earle.
“Obviously, there’s been a lot of chatter online this week about me and work. And I also have no idea what’s going on,” Earle said via TikTok at the time. “Don’t really want to get into the details of it all, and I kind of can’t get into the details of it all right now, but I’ve loved it so much, and I’m really proud of what I built with the podcast.”
A source later told Us Weekly that there was a “lot of tension” once the duo began working together.
“They’ve had a lot of drama between them [since] they decided to collaborate on Unwell,” a second insider shared. “They clashed over business, and their friendship is over because of it.”
More recently, Earle was caught reposting a shady TikTok about Cooper, prompting the “Call Her Daddy” podcast host to release a public message.
“I’m really tired of waking up and seeing you using this fake drama to distract from other s*** going online for you. Not interested. I know what happened and so do you,” Cooper said in an April TikTok video. “So talk. Unless the fake narrative that you’re creating happens to be way more interesting than the truth. I have nothing to hide when it comes to you and me.”
Cooper urged Earle to “get specific” about their issues, adding, “Just say what you gotta say about me. There’s no NDA and no one is stopping you. Stop hiding behind other people and just say it yourself. What’s the beef?”
She concluded: “Unless you actually have something to say, I’m out. This is over. Have a good Monday, everyone.”
Earle hinted she was ready to share her side of the story, replying, “OK on it!!”
The pair have yet to speak about the situation further. Amid the drama, Bloomberg published a report last month alleging that Cooper’s podcast network faced dramatic staff turnover over the past two years. The outlet claimed that Cooper’s husband, Matt Kaplan, was at the center of the company’s issues while running the day-to-day operations.
Kaplan “has earned a reputation for frequently yelling at staff members,” some of whom have threatened to walk off projects if he “doesn’t keep his distance,” according to the report. (Cooper and Kaplan have not addressed the claims.)
