Tony Romo fumbled through a field sobriety test in body camera footage from his OWI arrest Thursday.
In the footage obtained by Page Six, officers tell the NFL âbased on your driving and where you were coming from ⊠the red glassy eyes and the odor of an intoxicating alcoholic beverage on your breathâ he needed to undergo the routine test at the station.
Romo, who was arrest for allegedly operating a vehicle while under the influence (OWI) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, he asks the officers if he can stretch before and proceeds to do so on the cop car.
An officer asks Romo if he understands the instructions fort he field sobriety test and he says, âNo, thereâs too many.â
At one point, the retired Dallas Cowboys quarterback asks officers if he passed.
In separate footage, Romo told the arresting officer he was leaving the golf course and headed to his grandparentsâ house.
Page Six has reached out to Romoâs representatives for comment.
Page Six previously confirmed that the CBS Sports personality, 46, was booked and released shortly after, per the Milwaukee County Sheriffâs Office.
The NFL alum was allegedly traveling on southbound I-43 on the high-rise bridge when he was stopped.
According to The California Post, he was allegedly uncooperative during the encounter, and court documents obtained by the outlet showed that he was subsequently issued a citation for allegedly ârefusing to take test for intoxication after arrest.â
Per The California Post, a copy of the citation was not immediately available.
Romo is expected for an intake in court scheduled for Sept. 21.
In Wisconsin, a first-time OWI charge is often considered a civil offense, and may involve a fine ranging from $150 to $300. The incident marks the athleteâs first ever arrest.
From 2006 to 2016, Romo â who retired in April 2017 â played for the Dallas Cowboys, though he never won a Super Bowl during an NFL career that lasted nearly a decade and a half.
Following his retirement, the former football star ultimately became CBS Sportsâ lead NFL game color analyst.
Romo is also famous for his high profile love life, as he previously dated Jessica Simpson and Carrie Underwood.
He ultimately married Candice Crawford in May 2011, and shares three sons Hawkins, 14, Rivers, 12, and Jones, 8, with the former Miss Missouri USA.
