Taylor Swift walked down the aisle in one of the most anticipated wedding dresses of the decade. The Grammy-winning singer chose a bespoke Christian Dior Haute Couture gown as she married Travis Kelce in front of around 1,000 family members and famous friends at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Friday.
Both Taylor and Travis wore custom Dior creations designed by the French fashion house’s newly appointed creative director, Jonathan Anderson, making the bride’s gown his first couture wedding dress created for a major celebrity.
The historic commission comes just months after Anderson took the reins at Dior and cements his arrival as one of fashion’s most influential new creative forces.
Taylor completed her bridal look with custom Christian Louboutin shoes and elegant Cartier jewellery, while her sparkling engagement ring remained the standout accessory.
The custom old mine-cut diamond ring was designed by Artifex Fine Jewelry’s Kindred Lubeck in collaboration with Travis and has become one of the most talked-about celebrity engagement rings in recent years.
Taylor dropped subtle clues
Looking back, Taylor may have quietly hinted at her bridal fashion choice long before the big day.
In recent months, fans noticed the singer repeatedly carrying Dior handbags during public appearances, including a sleek black Le Cigale bag to a New York Knicks game in May and a butter-yellow Lady Dior bag earlier in the spring.
At the time, the accessories appeared to be a simple style statement, but they have now taken on new significance following confirmation that Dior created her wedding gown.
Earlier this week, reports suggested Anderson’s design had emerged as the winning choice after several luxury fashion houses competed for the opportunity to create one of the most closely watched bridal looks in recent memory.
A ceremony filled with personal touches
Taylor and Travis, who began dating in 2023, opted to forgo traditional bridesmaids and groomsmen in favour of a more personal approach.
Instead, Taylor’s younger brother, Austin Swift, served as her man of honour, while Travis’s older brother Jason Kelce stood beside him as best man.
Adding another Hollywood touch, longtime friend Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony. The couple exchanged vows surrounded by family, close friends and a host of A-list guests during what has become one of the biggest celebrity weddings of the year.
New York was a fitting choice for the celebrations, with Taylor having called the city home since 2014.
After months of anticipation, the singer’s bridal look proved every bit as elegant as fans had hoped, while also marking a milestone moment in Jonathan Anderson’s Dior career.
