Taylor Swift has been doing the rounds in New York City in recent days, after making surprise appearances at the Toy Story 5 premiere and at the Knicksâ face-off against the San Antonio Spurs.Â
The star continued her stellar run on Thursday night at the Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, where she was honored alongside musicians like Alanis Morissette and Gene Simmons.Â
Taylor stole the show in a strapless black gown with a dramatic thigh slit and colorful flowers embroidered across the bodice and skirt. She accessorized with black open-toed heels, a gold bracelet and dangling earrings.
The âCruel Summerâ singer opted to wear her blonde locks in a chic updo and added her signature red lip for the glamorous night. Her fiancĂ©, Travis Kelce, was nowhere to be found, with the athlete currently away on a training camp with his NFL team, the Kansas City Chiefs.Â
Taylor, who has been dominating the music industry for more than two decades, shared insight into her songwriting process with The New York Times ahead of the induction.Â
âI can only speak to me, but as Iâve grown up, the intensity of the sort of no-pun-intended âmessage in a bottleâ nature of my songwriting has shifted and changed into something else,â she told the publication.
âIt used to be like, âI canât tell a person how I feel so Iâll write it in this song.â And that was really important for me at the time that it was important for me.â
âItâs also important when youâre in your early 20s, and thereâs someone you shouldnât talk to, and you donât want to call them because theyâre bad for you and itâs toxic. SoâŠyou write it in the song, and thatâs where it lives, like almost as a method of self-control or self-preservation or something.âÂ
