Taylor Swift has been doing the rounds in New York City in recent days, after making surprise appearances at the Toy Story 5 premiere and at the Knicksā face-off against the San Antonio Spurs.Ā
The star continued her stellar run on Thursday night at the Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, where she was honored alongside musicians like Alanis Morissette and Gene Simmons.Ā
Taylor stole the show in a strapless black gown with a dramatic thigh slit and colorful flowers embroidered across the bodice and skirt. She accessorized with black open-toed heels, a gold bracelet and dangling earrings.
The āCruel Summerā singer opted to wear her blonde locks in a chic updo and added her signature red lip for the glamorous night. Her fiancĆ©, Travis Kelce, was nowhere to be found, with the athlete currently away on a training camp with his NFL team, the Kansas City Chiefs.Ā
Taylor, who has been dominating the music industry for more than two decades, shared insight into her songwriting process with The New York Times ahead of the induction.Ā
āI can only speak to me, but as Iāve grown up, the intensity of the sort of no-pun-intended āmessage in a bottleā nature of my songwriting has shifted and changed into something else,ā she told the publication.
āIt used to be like, āI canāt tell a person how I feel so Iāll write it in this song.ā And that was really important for me at the time that it was important for me.ā
āItās also important when youāre in your early 20s, and thereās someone you shouldnāt talk to, and you donāt want to call them because theyāre bad for you and itās toxic. Soā¦you write it in the song, and thatās where it lives, like almost as a method of self-control or self-preservation or something.āĀ
