Taylor Swift steals the show in plunging gown at Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony

Taylor Swift has been doing the rounds in New York City in recent days, after making surprise appearances at the Toy Story 5 premiere and at the Knicks’ face-off against the San Antonio Spurs. 

The star continued her stellar run on Thursday night at the Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, where she was honored alongside musicians like Alanis Morissette and Gene Simmons. 

Taylor stole the show in a strapless black gown with a dramatic thigh slit and colorful flowers embroidered across the bodice and skirt. She accessorized with black open-toed heels, a gold bracelet and dangling earrings.

The “Cruel Summer” singer opted to wear her blonde locks in a chic updo and added her signature red lip for the glamorous night. Her fiancé, Travis Kelce, was nowhere to be found, with the athlete currently away on a training camp with his NFL team, the Kansas City Chiefs. 

Taylor, who has been dominating the music industry for more than two decades, shared insight into her songwriting process with The New York Times ahead of the induction. 

“I can only speak to me, but as I’ve grown up, the intensity of the sort of no-pun-intended ‘message in a bottle’ nature of my songwriting has shifted and changed into something else,” she told the publication.

“It used to be like, ‘I can’t tell a person how I feel so I’ll write it in this song.’ And that was really important for me at the time that it was important for me.”

“It’s also important when you’re in your early 20s, and there’s someone you shouldn’t talk to, and you don’t want to call them because they’re bad for you and it’s toxic. So…you write it in the song, and that’s where it lives, like almost as a method of self-control or self-preservation or something.”

Raye looked incredible in a floor-length black satin gown with a plunging ruffled neckline and oversized crystal buttons running down the skirt. The songstress accessorized with diamond earrings and wore her reddish-brown hair in an Old Hollywood bouffant style.

The iconic ’80s singer came to win in a shimmering black gown with a high neckline and a daring thigh slit. The dress featured sheer panels and intricate beading with a wraparound effect on the bodice. She paired the look with black pumps and large diamond rings, and wore her blonde locks down in subtle waves.
