Taylor Swift sent a sweet message to Alan Jackson during his Nashville farewell show.
āI just want to say thank you for your decades of your incredible songwriting and performances and the way that means so much to us, the fans,ā Swift, 36, said in a video that played during the Saturday, June 27, show. āI think my favorite song of yours is āDriveā because in that song you paint such a picture and let us into the details of your life and I know that was an example that was so good for me to see at a young age ā an artist whoās just letting fans into details of his life.ā
She continued, āI appreciate you so much for the ways that you have treated me and other artists and writers with just such support and encouragement over the years, and Iām so excited for you doing this show and just appreciate you so much. Love you!ā
Jacksonās performance at Nashvilleās Nissan Stadium for his Last Call: One More for the Road ā The Finale show featured cameos from a number of the iconās fellow artists, including Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood and more.
Swift, however, was not in attendance as fans speculate she and fiancĆ© Travis Kelce are tying the knot days after Jacksonās show. (The upcoming wedding is rumored to be at New York Cityās Madison Square Garden over July 4 weekend.)
Jackson announced in 2025 that he would be stepping back from tour performances amid his ongoing health battle.
āYāall may have heard that Iām winding down,ā Jackson said on stage in an October 2025 video shared via Instagram. āIn fact, this is my last road show of my career.ā
He continued, āI appreciate [the applause]. Yāall are gonna make me tear up here, but I just felt like I had to end it all where it all started ā and thatās [in] Nashville, Tennessee [a.k.a.] Music City, where country music lives. I gotta do the last one there.ā
Jackson announced in September 2021 that he had been battling Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) disease for a decade. The hereditary disorder affects the nervous system, typically causing progressive loss of muscle tissue and loss of sensation in the arms and legs.
āI have this neuropathy and neurological disease. Itās genetic that I inherited from my daddy,ā Jackson said on the Today show in 2021. āThereās no cure for it, but itās been affecting me for years, and itās getting more and more obvious. I know Iām stumbling around on stage, and now Iām having a little trouble balancing, even in front of the microphone, and so, I just feel very uncomfortable.ā
He added, āItās not going to kill me. Itās not deadly, but itās related [to] muscular dystrophy and Parkinsonās disease.ā
