“Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” actor Anson Mount said his wife thought his unexpected on-air kiss with Joy Behar was “hilarious.”

Mount, 53, appeared on “The View” Wednesday, and as he walked out from backstage to greet the hosts, he hugged Behar, 83, and she gave him a kiss on the cheek. But Behar then pulled him in for a longer kiss on the lips, getting her lipstick on his mouth.

Mount, who is married to photographer and author Darah Trang, later joked in an interview with TV Insider, “I asked my wife to promise me she wouldn’t divorce me. She thought it was hilarious.”

He added of the moment going viral, “I think people just assume that I’m not around anymore because I have two young kids. I think maybe they were surprised to see that I’m still alive.”

The “Crossroads” star shared that the last time he had made an appearance on “The View” and saw Behar was 13 years ago.

“I brought her flowers for her birthday, and I guess I made an impression,” he cracked. “So, we’ll see what she does the next time.”

Mount has been married to Trang since 2018. They share two daughters: Clover, 4, and Violet, 1.

After Behar kissed him Wednesday, her fellow “The View” co-hosts — Whoopi Goldberg, Sara Haines and Sunny Hostin — appeared shocked, and Behar quipped, “I’m old, but I’m not dead.”

Goldberg then asked her, “Are you OK?”

Mount did point out he was married when Behar said, “Last time he was here, he brought me flowers for my birthday and it’s never been the same between us.”

The father of two replied, “Well, I got married, so.”

He then laughed when she shot back, “I know, that’s what I mean.”

Some viewers criticized the moment, with one comment on the ABC talk show’s TikTok post of the kiss reading, “yeah idk about this 😳 he plays it off well but I think she crossed a line.”

Another comment reads, “Isn’t that sexual harassment?”

Page Six has reached out to Behar’s rep for comment, but didn’t receive an immediate response.
