The police presence at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelceâs upcoming Madison Square Garden wedding will reportedly cost a hefty six-figure sum.
More than 70 detectives from New York City precincts are expected to work the high-profile nuptials, according to TMZ.
The outlet claimed on Tuesday that the cops will be doing 8.5 hour shifts at $80 to $90 an hour at Thursdayâs intimate rehearsal dinner and Fridayâs star-studded ceremony.
Additionally, high-ranking NYPD sources alleged 50-plus officers â described as ârookies making $70 an hour for a 9-hour shiftâ â will be on site.
TMZ estimated the detectives will cost $95,200 at minimum, with the rookies being $63,000 more, for a total of $158,200.
Higher-ups in the police force are also expected to be on hand, which would bring the staggering cost past $160,000.
Reps for Swift, Kelce and the NYPD did not immediately respond to Page Sixâs requests for comment.
The couple, notably, were initially planning a June wedding in Rhode Island â but pivoted to the Big Apple over security concerns.
Safety was âthe main issue,â a source told Us Weekly on Sunday.
âRhode Island wasnât great because the nature of the access and the perimeters were too difficult to secure,â the insider explained over the weekend.
The outlet also alleged, âSo many people wanted to come that plans had to change because it became bigger.â
We hear the event will be massive, with more than 1,000 guests watching Kelce and Swift, both 36, walk down the aisle.
Prep is already underway, with Page Six confirming the iconic venue is being decorated with a garden and a large castle.
Stevie Nicks and Tim McGraw will perform at the wedding, a source shared with us over the weekend.
