Savannah Guthrie traded the East Coast for the West Coast amid the ongoing search for her mother, Nancy Guthrie, following her disappearance. The Today Show host took to her Instagram Stories on June 17 to share that she has travelled from New York to Los Angeles.
The news anchor posted a photograph with her NBC co-star Carson Daly at The Voice studios. Despite the challenges occurring in her personal life, Savannah is putting on a brave face. The snap captured the pair posing together in front of the showâs renowned red logo. Savannah was dressed in a pair of straight-leg jeans with a black blazer while Carson kept things casual in black pants and a matching jacket. âWhen in LA, see your bestie @carsondaly,â penned Savannah over the image.
The next social media post showed Savannah seated in the iconic red chair beside the buzzer, with the stage illuminated behind her as she beamed at the camera.. âIn @carsondalyâs house,â she added.Â
Savannahâs trip to Los Angeles comes after she was absent from the Today Show on June 17. The NBC star was subbed by co-host Sheinelle Jones, with Craig Melvin explaining that the regular star was away on assignment. However, no more information was given regarding the assignment.
While Savannah is based in NYC during the week, she spends the majority of her weekends in Upstate New York, where she and her husband, Michael Feldman, have a large property and sprawling backyard, allowing for plenty of room for their children, Vale and Charles.Â
Nancy Guthrieâs kidnapping case
While Savannah was in Los Angeles, news broke that a woman had been arrested near Nancy Guthrieâs home in Tucson, Arizona, more than four months after the 84-year-old went missing. However, a spokesperson for the Pima County Sheriffâs Department confirmed that the case was not related to the investigation surrounding Nancyâs disappearance.Â
Nancy was reported missing on February 1. The 84-year-old was last seen near her home in Tucson, Arizona on Saturday, January 31. The Pima County Sheriff Department suspects foul play, and revealed that she was likely taken from her home âagainst her will.â
After more than two months off the air, Savannah returned to the Today Show on April 6. Savannah and Craig Melvin kept things brief for their intro, with Savannah simply saying that itâs âgood to be home.â
Savannah discussed her motherâs disappearance with her co-star Jenna Bush Hager on June 8thâs Today Show. âI cry every morning on the way to work and I cry on the way home,â she said as she fought back tears. âIâm grateful to have good friends, and to be able to come to such a beautiful and joyous place.â
