Sarah Jessica Parker reveals why she and her 3 kids with Matthew Broderick are spending Mother’s Day apart

Sarah Jessica Parker is making the best of what’s turning out to be a very relaxing Mother’s Day weekend by the beach.

The actress, 61, took to social media to provide a glimpse of her weekend in, as you can see in the video above, one that won’t actually end up including her three kids with husband Matthew Broderick.

Sarah Jessica and Matthew, 64, share son James Wilkie Broderick and teenage twin daughters Tabitha and Marion Broderick, all of whom are, according to the star, spending the weekend on a special sibling trip.

She documented her day of rest on Instagram: “Slept almost 7 hours. Woke. Made a fire. The beach is quiet. All alone. No children, who are all together on a special weekend away with one another. My husband has 2 shows today.”

“No cats. No laundry. Momentarily at 6’s and 7’s. Found my reading material. Like ballast. I’ve heard about these types of days. I suppose I will remain in my nightgown.”

That continued into the following day, where she shared another peek of the beach on Mother’s Day, with which she wrote: “Happy Mother’s Day to mothers everywhere. Especially to my own. But to all mothers, mommies, mamas, moms, my love and a massive bouquet of admiration and respect.”
