Congratulations are in order for Princess Eugenie, who announced on Monday that she is expecting her third child with her husband, Jack Brooksbank

And among those to publicly reach out were Princess Beatrice‘s husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. Architect Edo, whom Beatrice married in 2020, shared three red heart emojis under the post in a public show of support from him and his wife.

The duo share a warm relationship as brother and sister-in-law, often engaging on social media to celebrate family milestones.

Beatrice and Edo faced rumours of marriage struggles back in March, though friends told HELLO! at the time that the reports “weren’t true at all”.

The comment appears to be further confirmation that all is well in the marriage, as sisters Beatrice and Eugenie are known to be incredibly close.

The statement read: “Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their third child together, due this summer.

“August (aged five) and Ernest (aged two) are also very excited to have another sibling join the family. His Majesty The King has been informed and is delighted with the news.”

Accompanying the announcement was an adorable picture of August and Ernie holding a picture of a baby scan.

Jack and Eugenie married in St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, in October 2018, and welcomed their first child, August, on 9 February 2021. His younger brother Ernest was born on 30 May 2023.

How will the announcement change the line of succession?

The baby will be 15th in line to the throne, moving Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh, down to 16th place. Despite its place in the royal running, the baby will not be an HRH.

The top order of the line of succession will remain the same. Eugenie’s father, Andrew, remains eighth in line to the throne, despite growing pressure to remove him.

Eugenie’s announcement and return to social media appear to mark the start of a return to public life after Andrew’s arrest in February.
