Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi is celebrating some much-needed good news.

Princess Beatrice‘s husband is a big fan of Arsenal football club – so is delighted by the news that they’ve won the Premier League.

The London-based side ended a 22-year wait to be crowned champions on Tuesday, with Edo, 42, rushing to his X/Twitter account to re-share a post from the club reading: “The Arsenal. Your Premier League Champions.”

It’s his first post on the platform in almost a year, since he shared the news that his wife, Beatrice, 37, had become the patron of the Chartered College of Teaching last July.

His last actual post was in May 2025, when he shared the link to a piece about sculptor David Williams-Ellis and his studio in the Cotswolds. However, he has continued to post on his Instagram account.

Edo’s reduced presence on social media comes in the wake of the scandals facing Beatrice’s parents, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, over revelations due to their friendships with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, made earlier this year.

Beatrice and her sister, Eugenie, have also withdrawn from the public eye – but this month returned to the spotlight at Poppy Delevingne’s 40th birthday party following the announcement of Eugenie’s third pregnancy.

Football fans!

Earlier this year, father-of-three Edo supported Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in London to watch them take on Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League.

His son, Wolfie, is also an Arsenal fan and has even sat in the owner’s box, according to Tatler. This means they enjoy a friendly rivalry with Prince William, who is an Aston Villa fan.

Beatrice and Edo have kept a low profile in recent months

A source told the Daily Mail earlier this year that they have a “shared passion” for football, adding that there has been a “fair amount of ribbing this season”.

The insider added that William has been in need of “male company” since his brother Prince Harry moved to the US and stepped down from the royal family.

Birmingham-based side Villa is in fourth place in the annual football tournament and has performed well this season.

A historic victory

A host of celebrities have shared posts to celebrate – and commiserate – Arsenal’s victory.

Sir David Beckham has revealed he endured teasing by his son Romeo over Arsenal’s Premier League victory. Romeo is one of many stars to have celebrated after the north London team ended a 22-year wait to be crowned champions on Tuesday.

Olympic champion runner Sir Mo posted a picture of himself on Instagram posing with an Arsenal mascot, accompanied by the caption: “22 years… we did it!!!”

Formula One star Sir Lewis simply wrote “COYG” on his Instagram story, an abbreviation of “Come on you Gunners”.
