My Cousin Vinny star Marisa Tomei was a vision in black as she stepped out at the Spider-Man: Brand New Day premiere in London on Wednesday, 34 years after she starred in the cult classic film alongside Joe Pesci.
The 61-year-old, who won an Oscar for portraying Mona Lisa Vito in the flick, looked ageless in a structural sleeveless black gown with a thigh split, which she paired with eye-catching gold earrings and matching bangles and rings.
Marisa completed the look with black pumps, and wore her brunette locks slicked back behind her ears. She portrays Aunt May in the newest generation of Spider-Man films, opposite Tom Holland and Zendaya.
Branching out
Marisa has dipped her toes into several different film and TV genres throughout her career, starring in As the World Turns, The Flamingo Kid, A Different World, Oscar, The Wrestler, In the Bedroom and The Ides of March.
The brunette beauty revealed that she liked to diversify her roles not because of âan intellectual decisionâ but due to âa need to express different parts of [herself],â as she shared in a 2014 panel for the SAG-AFTRA Foundation.
âOr explore different ideas or cultures or the great things that we get to do as actors. And then it became more conscious,â Marisa continued, before adding that she stayed grounded by cultivating her family relationships.
âYou have to make a commitment to it. We travel so much, everybody does, and particularly actors, and just showing up again and again and having really deep relationships with all 20 of my close family, my big Italian close family,â she said.
Marisaâs anti-aging secrets
As for how she remains ageless after 61 years, Marisa shared with Vogue that she liked to keep things âreally simpleâ when it came to beauty and wellness.
âGrowing up, I was interested in meditation and in grounding myself. That led to how I take care of my body in the best way,â she told the publication. âI have very sensitive skin, and a sensitive system, so the most pure food-grade ingredients work the best for me.â
A healthy approach
The Oscar winner added that she focused more on how she felt on the inside than what she looked like on the outside. âWhat you put into your body is even more crucial than what youâre doing in terms of your exterior,â she explained. âWhat I eat and how I connect with my body feed my external.â
âI try to eat seasonal, local, and organic foods as much as possible, almost all the time,â Marisa added.Â
âMoving meditation, like dance meditation, makes me feel at home in my skin; it helps me on a spiritual, mental, and, ultimately, physical level. I still hike and do calisthenics and yoga from time to time, but the cornerstone of it all is the inner stuff.â
She is also a fan of infrared saunas when detoxing from sugar and alcohol, and changes her approach day-to-day. âI donât believe in tricks or even a routine; I listen to what my body wants me to do and follow suit.âÂ
