Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are ringing in their daughter Princess Lilibet’s 5th birthday with a heartfelt Instagram tribute.

On Thursday, the Duchess of Sussex took to social media to share two never-before-seen photos of their “dream girl.”

In one, the Duke of Sussex beamed as he held his youngest in his arms while Markle fawned over them. Meanwhile, in another, their little one caressed purple flowers in the backyard, wearing a white dress.

“Our dream girl. Happy 5th birthday, Lili 🤍,” the beaming mother captioned the birthday tribute.

Markle and Harry welcomed their youngest child in 2021, two years after Prince Archie was born in 2019.

Meanwhile, Lilibet’s full moniker holds a very special meaning to Prince Harry.

Lilibet was actually the royal’s grandmother Queen Elizabeth II’s childhood nickname.

Additionally, Lilibet’s middle name, Diana, is a sweet nod to Prince Harry’s mother, who died in 1997 when he was just 12 years old.

The couple’s adorable Instagram post comes on the heels of Prince Archie’s 7th birthday last month.

“7 years later…happy birthday to our sweet boy,” Markle penned on Instagram at the time, alongside a shot of Harry holding his son as an infant.

Since resigning from their royal duties and relocating to Montecito, California, in 2020, the couple has kept their kids’ faces off social media.

But from time to time, Markle, who tied the knot with Harry in 2018, will share glimpses of their Southern California life.

Last month, the As Ever founder gave fans a rare look at her bond with Lilibet, whom she photographed helping her get dressed.

“Mama’s little helper,” Markle captioned the Instagram shot.

However, she quickly received backlash, with followers calling her post “tone deaf” since the very next day Markle gave a speech about the dangers of children being on social media.

At the time, a source told Page Six, “What [Markle] talked about [Sunday] — what young kids are being exposed to via dangerous algorithms and content — is very different than her own positive content.”

“Many mothers share content of their children in a proud and positive manner — Meghan does it tastefully and without showing their faces, just as many other well-known people do,” the insider insisted.

In 2025, Markle opened up about her motherhood journey.

While on her “Confessions of a Female Founder” podcast at the time, the “90210” alum told listeners, “I will say, for myself, especially when they are baby babies and before I was a mom, I’ve always wanted to be a mom.”

However, Markle admitted that becoming a mom didn’t happen the way she “envisioned” it.

She noted that there were “a lot of external things happening by the time [she] had both pregnancies and both babies.”

But despite the ups and down, Markle made it clear she has one hope in mind.

“For me, it’s so important my kids see me as a working mom,” she shared.
