Meet Martin Lawrence’s two ex-wives and three kids, including his daughter married to a very famous nepo-baby

In 1995, Martin married his first wife, Patricia Southall. The two met three years earlier in 1992 while Patricia was working for the then Governor of Virginia, Douglas Wilder. During their relationship, Patricia won the Miss Virginia USA crown and placed first runner-up in the 1994 Miss USA pageant.

While they were together, the couple welcomed a daughter, Jasmin Page. But, after two years of marriage, Martin and Patricia divorced. She went on to marry the football legend Emmitt Smith. The two are still together and are parents to Emmitt James, 23, Skylar, 22, and Elijah, 15.

The same year he divorced Patricia, Martin started dating Shamicka Gibbs, an entrepreneur and chef. Three years into their relationship, in 2000, the couple welcomed their first daughter, Iyanna Faith. In 2002, Shamicka gave birth a second time to daughter Amara Trinity.

Over ten years into their relationship, Martin and Shamicka tied the knot at their Beverly Hills home in front of 120 guests, including Eddie Murphy and Barry Bonds. But, after two years married, the couple filed for divorce in 2012.

On November 6, 2000, Martin and Shamicka welcomed Iyanna Faith to the world. Like her dad, Iyanna is ever the creative. In 2018, he dropped her off at Sarah Lawrence College in New York for her freshman year.

Martin documented the day on Instagram, posting a photo of him and Iyanna, writing: “Today was one of the hardest days of my life. I left my baby girl @iyanna_faith at school to start her new chapter of college life. Your father @martinlawrence and I are so proud of the young woman that you have become. We know that you are in God’s hands.”

Two years after Iyanna was born, Martin and Shamicka welcomed their second child, Amara Trinity on August 20, 2002. Like her big sisters, Amara is creative. She is an aspiring singer and songwriter.

Amara has two original tracks on Soundcloud and is the apple of her mom’s eye. In 2019, Shamicka shared a video of Amara singing with the caption: “I am in Awe Every Time I Hear Our Baby Girl Sing.”

Aside from her musical aspirations, Amara also loves her dad. In 2020, she wrote a loving tribute to Martin on her Instagram, saying: “You have [always] put your heart into everything you do even if it takes more time than you expect. I’m so blessed to say that I was raised by such a humble and loving person who has always tried to do the best he could to make sure we could accomplish anything we put our minds to.”
