“Love Island UK” star Ella Thomas was hospitalized for emergency surgery after her “birthday celebrations … end[ed] with a freak accident.”
The 26-year-old shared harrowing hospital photos via Instagram Wednesday, explaining that she “missed the Met Gala for a night in the ward” after getting her foot operated on.
Thomas’ social media carousel documented the moment she was loaded onto an ambulance while gushing blood, as well as when she was wheeled into an operating room for surgery.
“keep swiping to see the vibes after the doctor gave me the [drugs] to distract me from the pain😭😭😭,” the reality star concluded her caption, referencing footage of herself dancing and singing mid-hospital stay.
She broke down exactly how the bloody injury came to be in a TikTok video that same day,
Thomas, who appeared on Season 10 of the British reality TV dating show in 2023, told her followers it all went down on Sunday at a London event — which gave her and her friends “bad vibes” from the start.
Within 10 minutes of arriving, someone smashed a bottle and shards of glass rained down on Thomas’ foot.
“This was not a little cut,” she recalled. “It was a massive wound, and my blood was just gushing and gushing. Like, liters on the floor. The worst part is that there were girls literally laughing.”
Thomas was rushed to the emergency room for X-rays and, ultimately, surgery.
“I was in so much shock and panic, I wouldn’t let the doctor touch my foot until he gave me this medicine,” she added.
Several of Thomas’ fellow “Love Island UK” alums took to the comments section to wish her a speedy recovery.
“Our strong girl 🥺🥺💕 vibes never stop!!” Season 8 finalist Indiyah Polack wrote.
“Babe omfg wtf! Hoping you’re okay you look so cute in the first pic omg,” Season 11 alum Uma Jammeh added.
Thomas, notably, came in third place on Season 10 of “Love Island UK” with Tyrique Hyde.
The exes coupled up on the first day but had a turbulent run, with Thomas returning to the villa with another man from Casa Amor before rekindling their romance with Hyde.
The duo dated for six months after filming, but Thomas and her 27-year-old co-star called it quits in February 2024.
