Wearing her honey-blonde hair in loose waves and soft glam makeup, the singer smiled as she greeted fans and performed live as part of the Citi Concert Series.
The appearance marked a major moment for Lizzo as she continues promoting her highly anticipated new studio album, her first full-length release in four years.
Speaking with Today hosts, the singer revealed that the new record is her most personal work to date.
āI wrote songs that I needed for myself,ā Lizzo explained, adding that the album contains more of her authentic self than ever before.

The singerāsĀ Today appearance wasnāt solely focused on music. She also addressed the ongoing legal battle stemming from a lawsuit filed in 2023 by three former backup dancers, who accused her of sexual harassment, weight-shaming and creating a hostile work environment. Lizzo has repeatedly denied the allegations.
āFirst off, itās nice to be able to be here and actually give you an update in my own words,ā she said. āThatās really important to me. Iāve had some victories with it.ā
The singer noted that some claims had already been dismissed by the court, including allegations relating to fat-shaming.
āOne of the accusers dropped the fat shaming claim,ā Lizzo said. āIt had no merit in court. As well as the judge dropped most of the claims because they held no merit in court.ā
She also made it clear that she intends to continue fighting the remaining allegations.
āI could have settled, but Iām a woman who is not afraid of the truth coming out, so Iām continuing to fight,ā she said. āIām really excited for all of the claims to be dropped and for us to just move forward.ā
When asked whether she would have handled anything differently during the period in question, Lizzo shifted the focus back to her music.
āI just want to continue to think about my album and taking the things that Iāve gone through and translating that into song to help other people,ā she said.
