Samantha Busch has thanked fans for their “prayers, messages, flowers, meals, hugs, and countless acts of kindness” in the weeks since her husband Kyle’s tragic death on May 21, 2026.
Samantha broke her silence by taking to Instagram to share that the messages “have carried us through the most heartbreaking days of our lives,” and that they have “felt God’s presence and arms wrapped tightly around us through each and every one of you”.
Samantha, who is mom to their two children, son Brexton, 11, and daughter Lennix, four,  continued: “The love that has surrounded our family during this unimaginable time has brought comfort in the middle of so much pain. Knowing the impact Kyle had on others and seeing how they are honoring him through each unique act of generosity is a true testament to how special Kyle is to so many people.
“There are moments when the weight of this loss feels impossible to carry, yet time and time again God, through you all, has shown us we are not alone. From family and friends to fans and complete strangers, thank you for showing up for us. Thank you for loving our family so well.”

Kyle, a two-time Cup Series champion, died on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at the age of 41 after suffering complications from severe pneumonia that progressed into sepsis, shortly after being hospitalized.Â
He had reportedly been battling a severe sinus infection and persistent cough, which worsened during the physically gruelling race conditions.

In an incredible display of strength, Samantha walked onto the track holding a bouquet of white roses as she stood arm-in-arm with the couple’s son Brexton, 11, while daughter Lennix, four, remained close by her side.
The devastated mother-of-two embraced both children tightly as tears streamed down her face, and she was joined by Kyle’s parents, Tom and Gaye Busch, and Kyle’s older brother, Kurt.
“Every race track was Kyle Busch’s home. He competed like he had something to prove every single race, when in reality he’d already proven everything.”
He continued: “What I think we’ll miss most isn’t the wins. It’s the guy who quietly wanted to help a teammate or give some advice.
“It was the husband, the father, or the guy who quietly did things for others when no one was watching.”
