Kourtney Kardashian’s head-turning beach photo in new family update

Kourtney Kardashian Barker just turned heads. The 47-year-old mom-of-four shared beach photos and a surprising family update.

In a post shared with her 210 million Instagram followers, Kourtney walked along the beach with her youngest child Rocky, two, who she shares with Travis Barker, 50. And in another photo, the Lemme founder sat at a diner with her little one, whose face she covered with an emoji.

The last photo in the carousel was of Rocky bonding with his older siblings. The two-year-old sat atop Penelope, 13, and Reign, 11 – who Kourtney shares with her ex Scott Disick, 43 – as they looked at a phone. While he wasn’t pictured, the reality TV star is also mom to Mason, 16.

The proud mom captioned the post: “June gloom.” Fans loved the peak into Kourtney’s life. “Serving sunshine during june gloom,” one fan wrote. Another person added: “Your father would be proud of the woman you are today and the mother you’ve become.”

Kourtney Kardashian’s life as a mom

Kourtney became a mom in 2009 when she gave birth to Mason. Since then, she’s grown her brood with three more children and three step-children, Landon Barker, 22, Alabama Barker, 20, and Atiana De La Hoya, 27.

And it’s obvious to her friends and fans that what she loves most is being a mom. 

“Watching your kids grow every day – watching all the little moments. I actually think my favorite part is that you relive your own childhood,” Kourtney told Harper’s Bazaar in May 2015. “Going to Disneyland and watching all the movies I watched when I was a kid. I have so many of the books we read when we were little – so reading all the same books again. It’s really fun – you almost get to be a kid again and do all those magical things.”

While it may have caused some drama with her sisters Kim and Khloe Kardashian on their reality show The Kardashians, Kourtney keeps strict boundaries about motherhood. “I always try my absolute best when I’m with my kids not to be on my phone, to be present in what we’re doing, and have those moments where you’re looking in each other’s eyes and connecting,” she explained to Vogue Arabia in July 2020.

And she is open about not wanting work to get in the way of her family. In April 2020, Kourtney wrote on X: “I realize that a lot of the conversation right now surrounds my work ethic, and I feel like I need to just make one thing clear: raising children is a job as well.”

She learned how to mother from one of the most famous moms there is, Kris Jenner. Kris is a mom-of-six and a grandmother to 13 kids. Kourtney looks up to her when she considers how to best raise her children.

“She really has shown me a balance between being a mom and having a relationship – she had such a great relationship with my dad,” she explained about raising children with an ex. “I think she does it all, and she’s really showed me that. And she’s also shown me and my sisters how to celebrate life and celebrate holidays, and she takes so much pride, she’s instilled that in us.”
