North West is continuing to carve out her own creative identity – and turning heads while doing it.
The 12-year-old daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West has dropped a new track, #N0rth4evr, along with a striking music video that leans heavily into dark, cinematic visuals.
In the clip, North is seen wandering through a graveyard in a series of grainy, lo-fi shots reminiscent of “found footage” horror films. At one point, she dances in front of an angel statue; in another, she gazes out from behind a lace curtain, adding to the eerie, stylised feel.
Her look has also sparked conversation. North appears with faux piercings placed under one eye and near the bridge of her nose – a bold styling choice that follows earlier headlines about her experimenting with dermal finger piercings.
Those previous piercings, which involve an anchor placed beneath the skin, drew criticism online due to her age and the potential risks, including infection and scarring. North, however, has shown little interest in the backlash, previously addressing critics in a TikTok post that dismissed the controversy.
She posted a TikTok in December in which she mimed to the sound-byte: ‘Why are you crying? How old are you? Just pull it together,’ with a caption that read: ‘this is for everyone that’s mad over a finger piercing.’
Her latest video suggests she’s leaning fully into self-expression – visually and musically. The song itself has a pop-rock edge, with lyrics that touch on the pressures of growing up in the spotlight. “Forever and always, I don’t listen, but they talk about me all day,” she sings, hinting at the scrutiny that comes with being part of one of the world’s most famous families.
The track serves as the lead single for her debut EP, also titled #N0rth4evr, released on Friday, May 1 – marking her first major step into music, following in the footsteps of her famous father.
Despite the attention and occasional controversy, North has strong backing at home. Kim has made it clear she is proud of her daughter’s creative pursuits, and the wider Kardashian-Jenner family quickly showed their support following the EP’s release.
Several relatives, including her uncle Rob Kardashian, aunt Khloé Kardashian and grandmother Kris Jenner, shared posts on Instagram showing themselves streaming and listening to her music.
North is the eldest of Kim and Kanye’s four children – siblings Saint, Chicago and Psalm – and, while still young, she’s already stepping confidently into her own spotlight.
