Katy Perry is bringing back several old favorites for her summer run of shows.
The pop star, 41, is performing several back to back concerts for the next few months throughout Europe and South America, including festivals and one-off shows, which she’s dubbed the “OOO Tour.”
And while the shows have heightened her usually campy theatrics and whimsical set pieces, plus included some nods to her famous exes and her new beau Justin Trudeau, and new songs like her latest drop “Watch It Burn,” we’re throwing it far back for her tour style.
For every night of the OOO Tour so far (and going forward), Katy has been breaking out an archival piece from her shows during the 2008 Warped Tour and the 2009 Hello Katy Tour.
During her latest show in Spain, as part of Festival Río Babel, the singer broke out another archival piece, this time from her 2009 performance at the Under 18 Festival in Madrid.
The look consisted of a mint green top with deer patterning and satin halter straps, paired with high-waisted hot pink shorts with a button-flap, pairing the new iteration with her hair styled into pigtails, plus white thigh-high stockings and black strappy shoes.
Katy shared some snaps from her latest show, including a side-by-side snap of herself on stage and herself back in 2009, and nothing’s changed! “I love all my fans, especially my Spanish fans… Unconditionally,” she captioned her post. “Thank you for holding me up through the heat and my summer cold… you are the best fans, the realest. I see you and I love you.”
Her fans definitely agreed, leaving comments on the post like: “We’ve been here since the beginning, can’t wait for you to come back to Spain again,” and: “WE LOVE YOU UNCONDITIONALLY,” a reference to her 2013 hit “Unconditionally.”
During the summer of 2008, Katy embarked on the Warped Tour with then-boyfriend Travie McCoy. The tour served as her introduction to the masses, following her breakout success with “I Kissed a Girl” and beginning just as she released One of the Boys, her first album going as “Katy Perry.”
In 2009, following the success of the record after singles “Hot ‘n Cold,” “Waking Up in Vegas,” and “Thinking of You,” Katy embarked on her first ever headlining world tour, the Hello Katy Tour.
She performed a total of 93 shows in four different continents throughout most of 2009, grossing nearly $2 million. The tour ended a few short months before she released “California Gurls,” ushering in her revered Teenage Dream album era.
In conjunction with bringing back her previous fashions, Katy is also raising money for her charity, the Firework Foundation. After each concert, the singer has been auctioning off the pieces for lucky fans to raise money for the organization.
