After a busy few days in Venice, Amal Clooney and her husband George Clooney couldnât keep the smiles off their faces as they prepared to leave the iconic film festival.
Pictured walking arm in arm with George, Amal, 48, was glowing as she rocked a $1,900 snake-print Elie Saab skirt, which she paired with a black vest top and brown belt.
The asymmetric skirt featured a jaw-droppingly high slit that showed off Amalâs , and which were highlighted with brown platform-wedge sandals.
Human rights lawyer Amal has made Venice â where she and George tied the knot in 2024 â her own personal runway this week, stepping out in a series of gorgeous outfits.
For the festivalâs opening ceremony, Amal turned heads in a dramatic custom black Tom Ford gown by Haider Ackermann, accessorized with spectacular Cartier diamonds reportedly worth $375,000. Â Â
She has also caught attention in a figure-hugging cream Stella McCartney dress decorated with a playful raspberry print, and an archival Prada mini dress adorned with sparkling turquoise fringe.
The pair were at the festival for George, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award during the annual eventâs opening ceremony.
âWhen they tell you that youâre gonna be getting a Lifetime Achievement Award, there are really only two things that come to mind,â quipped the Oscar winner during his speech.
âThe first is that, âWhat an incredible honor this is.â Then the second is, âDo they know something that I donât? Youâve been talking to my doctors, have you?'â
He continued: âI am grateful to the friendships that Iâve made over a course of a lifetime,â adding of Amal: âI am at a loss for words to describe how much I love my wife. How proud I am of her.â
The pair met in 2013 when a friend of Georgeâs brought her as a plus one to a dinner he was holding at his home in Lake Como, Italy.
They married a year later, and welcomed nine-year-old twins Ella and Alexander in 2017.
George often speaks highly of Amal and the work she is doing; she has represented victims of the genocide in Darfur, Sudan, as well as worked alongside colleagues on a task force providing legal advice to Ukraine after the invasion by Russia in 2022.
âMy wifeâs the only person to have ever put ISIS on trial and won,â George told audiences at Venice, declaring: âSheâs a badass, and she gets the job done.â
âAmalâs taken some very difficult stands over the years, and weâve had to face some pretty heavy criticism based on that,â he added
Together, Amal and George launched the Clooney Foundation for Justice, which fights for human rights and justice globally, ensuring accountability and support for victims. They hold the star-studded Albie Awards yearly, celebrating global human rights defenders and brave individuals who risk their lives for justice.
